Does this mod conflict with the Unofficial Patch VR fix? I have this mod working fine with FRIK and can leave the vault. I am in two minds about installing the Official Patch (older version 2.1.5) anyway, but knowing whether this mod will then not work or cause issues without the Official Patch VR fix, which seems to be for an even older version of the Official patch (2.1.2b)
Or will this mod in itself fix the CTD caused by the official patch?
I'm assuming you're talking about Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch - UFO4P and Unofficial UFO4P VR Fix. I haven't tried Unofficial UFO4P VR Fix yet, but I have successfully used my FRIK fix with UFO4P 2.1.5 before. UFO4P VR Fix doesn't seem to change anything that could break my fix, so there should be no conflict between my mod and the others.
Run very well with SKK Fast Start. With the gender chosen pop up at the entrance of valut 111 after character creation, do not need to load a save. Endorsed.
I'm trying to run the Mad God Overhaul. At first it seemed fine, I was outside the Vault so I did a save, went to MO2, and turned on FRIK. Went back to the game and it crashed (or CTD as the cool kids say). Went back to MO2 and turned FRIK off, still CTD. I took a look at this mod and I have no idea how to apply it (no instructions anywhere, it's just scripts?). Any ideas?
You should have FRIK enabled when you start the game if you're using this mod, no need to turn it off and on. There's some instructions in the description.
Just returned to F4VR and made a complete new installation, just MO2, F4SEVR, VR Tools & FRIK.
I can't get the Index controllers to work. The game just doesn't react on the movement input. I selected the FRIK control binding, and it seems to work fine, with the exception of movement.
I'm kind of desperate. It worked once but since then I can't get it to work again, no matter what I try.
FRIK itself seems to work fine, as I can see my body and my hands. But I understand that with FRIK and the matching control scheme I don't need any other patch or addition to make the Index controller work, or am I missing something?
Sometimes my left hand grip a object (like stimpack or other item) and then i cant remove it. The only manner to fix is load a save where I dont have the problem.
Did you already try it with the new FRIK version? Was pretty sure it wouldn't break with updates since technically it has nothing to do with FRIK, it's just edited vanilla scripts, but I'll get around to testing the new version soon™...
Alright, I did a quick test and it seems to be working for me, even got a new type of broken character select finger with the new version :P
Elevator was also fine, and was actually properly faded out (like in vanilla) during the broken elevator animation with the new version, so seems to be working even better than before :P
Double check if you have it installed properly and try waiting a bit longer in the main menu if you have a heavily modded game. And maybe check if loose file loading is enabled if that doesn't work. I tested this with only FRIK + its requirements, so I guess it could also be some kind of mod conflict...
Yes, I let the entire intro song play to be sure. It's also quite possible its something on my end though, either with another mod or the overall touchiness of Fo4VR. Glad to see FRIK is getting love
Wow, that's definitely enough time for mods to load... Do you have any alternate start mods or anything that modifies the vanilla intro? Mods like that usually edit QF_MQ101_0001ED86.psc as well, so it's possibly getting overwritten by something else.
Yeah, probably. It doesn't replace the script but does some weird stuff with the intro, probably just skips activating the script in the first place. If you want to keep using SKK Fast Start with FRIK, you can try my old method (doesn't need my mod):
Sweet, thank you so much for looking into this! Luckily I'm all sorted out in Sanctuary so I'm good to go at this point. Just reinstalled FRIK on the 111 elevator. Thank you again for giving FRIK the love it deserves
Been trying this on a new playthru. Started with Frik right from the start. No crash, no weird issues after an entire day exploring. Could be working...
So hard to tell if Frik is just better optimised now or if it's this Mod, but no problems since I started and I'm level 21 now. Just don't sleep and save in power armor. Late Update: Using this Mod with it of course, forgot to mention! Endorsed.
Interesting mod. My issues with Frik wasn't it crashing (if I used it right from the start), but things going really weird and squirrely later. Does it work fine after a while once in the wastelands without wierdness?
I haven't encountered anything like that with or without this mod (unless you mean the PA save bug?)... This mod doesn't actually modify FRIK in any way, only vanilla scripts that were causing crashes with FRIK enabled.
