I'll take a look sometime. Just so you know though mate, it's important to download version 1.1 as 1.0 was lacking a lot of entries as I uploaded the wrong zip from a previous save.
I don't know what you mean by the old file still packed in. There are identical to master entries, yes. I personally don't have a problem with that.
EDIT: Maybe you mean you looked at the entries and you can still see the original meds listed? Yes, that's because only the names and effects have changed. They are still based on the same IDs. This was an easier round about way to do a new system without having to create all entirely new items. Much better for compatibility.
you have the meds and the illness esp both packed together. You also have a lot of entries that are identical to the mod they take them from, it doesn't hurt anything but its redundant when you aren't changing anything. It's good practice to run an esp you've worked on in xedit or creation kit through quick clean.
I dont see detail in the description referring to the illnesses themselves or means of contraction. From the description it sounds like you made existing Survival Mode illness management minus the need for Survival Mode.

Is this the idea or is there more to it?
Nobody really uses Illness without survival mode, I don't believe this is possible anyhow (without further modding).
This is specifically to be played with the Life in The Ruins modlist.
