INTRODUCTION
I love New Vegas and always felt that Fallout 4 lacked many RPG elements that it sorely needed.
Polyman made a mod called Weapon Requirements that specifically adds all weapons in the game into formlists to decide the strength requirements, but it required all DLCs and had to have patches for new weapons added by other mods.
I have instead based the strength requirement on the ammo the weapon uses, the weight of the weapon, the type of weapon, whether it is automatic, whether it is bolt-action, whether it is melee or ballistic, explosive, is considered heavy etc.

I based the logic of the script on the New Vegas weapons' strength requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
Base game and F4SE, no DLCs required.
MCM optional

USAGE INFO
Just install. Everything is automatic, DLCs and specific compatible mods are automatically accounted for.

INTERACTION
When you equip a weapon, reload a weapon, exit the Level Up Menu, or enter/exit a power armor and you DON'T meet the calculated strength requirement, you will receive a message reflecting that and your aim/recoil/weapon draw etc will all be severely negatively affected.
If you meet the requirement you won't see such a message.

NEW: Crouching will reduce the hold breath penalty and scope sway penalty by half.
NEW: Recoil compensating stocks will reduce the STR requirement of a weapon(1 by default, configurable).
NEW: MCM menu added for user controls.
NEW: Weapon Penalties are now shown in the Effects Tab of the Pipboy, only when affected by them and only for the type of weapon you're affected by.

NEW: Heavy Weapon gating, heavy weapons require Power Armor(OPTIONAL)
NEW: Heavy Weapon Soft Gating, being effective with heavy weapons requires Power Armor, but you can still use them out of it(OPTIONAL)
NEW: Heavy Weapon Soft Gated slow effect, an additional slow percentage with a heavy weapon equipped(OPTIONAL)
NEW: Heavy Weapon Soft Gated Damage, the amount of damage you take from recoil while shooting heavy weapons(OPTIONAL)

RECOMMENDATIONS
Any very popular mod that adds new ammos, as I have accounted for the top mods that do so.

This is also all automatic and my mod does not actually require these mods to work.

I do recommend using True Damage since that makes ballistic weapons do damage based on the weapon caliber. You'd need patches for any extra ammo mods, such as the ones above, though.

UPDATE PROTOCOL
Make a save with the old version still installed, and set the mod to disabled.
Uninstall the old version and make a CLEAN save in-game.
Install the new version and proceed as normal.


BUGS/INCOMPATIBILITIES
Any mod that does the same thing. They will all technically work, but you'll severely hamper your gameplay.

I would like to make an F4SE plugin and FallUI SWF edit to show the strength requirements for each weapon. I do not yet have a buildable F4SE plugin example. If YOU have such an example plugin, please contact me so I can clone your repo and work on my own plugin.
I don't think this would be very hard for me to do if I just had a buildable example to start from.
