So I don’t have any walls or anything really. Just furniture and roofs and water. I redownloaded it already to see if it messed up in download but it didn’t. Installed using Mod Manager. I have all requirements. Is this not NG compatible or something?
This looks pretty sick, I could imagine it being derelict with ghouls that you'd have to clear before you could claim it. Will definitely add it to a playthrough
Copyright applies to the contents, not the title. It only applies to a name when someone tries to duplicate what another is already doing. I can't make a Steam-like game interface that does the same thing as Steam and call it Steam. There would be cease and desist everywhere. It gets iffy when you try to pull of a copycat.
This is pretty epic, it must have taken an enormous amount of work. I could see this being used as the setting for a series of story mods.
Two things I'd like to mention though:
1. Pretty severe intermittent performance issues I can't quite pin down. When looking in certain directions, indoors, outdoors low GPU utilization, FPS randomly dropping into the mid 20's. I don't know if this is due to a lack of precombines, or a conflict with another mod or an issue with my high resolution texture pack (just guessing). I'd be willing to do some more testing if it would be helpful at all. (5800X / 6600XT / 1440p -> 4k RSR / 32GB Ram / Win11)
2. Mod managers (especially Vortex) are very picky about version numbers, in order for updates to work correctly for most people you need to increase the version number with each update (in a way the mod manager can understand). Otherwise a user will have to completely uninstall the old version and install the new one from scratch for the upgrade to work reliably. You might want to look at how some other mods do version numbers for examples. ECO Redux is one example I can think of off the top of my head.
Let me know if I can do anything to help or if you'd prefer I could just stop complaining. Thanks for making this!
the fps drop is due to the insanely high furnished structures, once you scrap them the interior is more stable, that's what I've been trying to tell him, to create an unfurnished version of the settlement for better performance and because I like to give them my personal touch
My framerate improved by getting rid of all the bots, removing or disabling duplicate items like armor and weapons workbenches. For all there is in this mod, I feel that there are way too many bar and restaurant counters and I would rather just place my own with the immersive vendors mod. I can 'employ' settlers in other ways other than redundant shops with mods like 'assigned while unassigned', HotC Settlement edition, Housekeeping, Simple Prostitutes, and Singing Settler, etc. Haven't gotten that far, yet, but hopefully I can disable the double beds and replace them with true double beds from the SnapBeds mod, which gives you so much more variety as well. I haven't found the power source, so I'm thinking of using the Swichbox Generator mod to wire up all the slot machines and other devices that require direct wiring, or make my own using console and making a switchbox generator with "setav 32e x" where x is the power number you want (it doesn't show up in the workbench power total at the top of the screen, BTW). Using Place Everywhere, you can hide these boxes inside walls, etc., so you don't have the wiring showing up (great for wiring houses and hiding the conduits and switchbox generator).
There are many fixes IMO that can be done, and some needed for sure. I love the looks of the place, though, although I did remove the 'modern couches in the room with the huge pool (I hate those ugly things) and it also helped with frame rate. All in all just get rid of anything you think is redundant, too much, or not needed by any means. Use the console to make food with existing objects and eliminate most of the greenhouse plants.
I would love to see a version with no stores and no beds. A simple scrappable marker would be sufficient and a scrappable sign for the stores also. This would keep the author's vision in tact, but also make it much more customizable. Reduce, drastically, the slot machines and Nuka mixers. Seriously.
Update (6-1-23): I uninstalled it. It became an afterthought when assigning settlers to a settlement. Others that found it on their own were screwing up 'my' vision of store and bed assignments. That, coupled with the framerate problem just didn't make it fun to use. To the author: the game uses precombines for framerate problems. Can you or do you know how to do that in your mods? It would solve the problem immensely. Buildings alone would be a big improvement. Just hoping you can look into it.
I get you, besides he always uses the same layout for his cities with hordes of vanilla clutter all over the place, like hey I just want pre built structures where I can furnish the way I want to without the burden of having to disable items that can't be scrapped or scrapping almost everything inside houses and buildings, sim settlements 2 plot do a better job than vanilla stores
just offer alternatives man, there are people who love to interior decorate their settlements in their own way, and people who like everything already built so they either explore or whatever, I love to decorate settlements but i suck at building structures and even more at snapping them togheter without them looking asymetric or such.

^^ This. Every time I try and build a structure in FO4 it ends up crap. Walls and floors don't align, Doors don't snap right or at all. Even with "Place Anywhere" I can't make it look like I want.
I suspect this mod is made for people like myself - I want there to be an increasing number of safe settlements but have zero interest in building OR decorating. Or maybe the author just enjoys decorating too much to not do it.
You probably shouldn't swim in it anyway, the radiation will cook you in seconds. It's labeled as reactor coolant (in my game at least). Looks pretty though.
I play without radiation, based on it being 200 years later and after 50 years Nagasaki and Hiroshima are inhabited. The mod takes all radiation out of the game. Weather (rain and wind) and time do an amazing job of cleaning things up.
hi any chance for an unfurnished version? I like to interior decorate or personalize my settlements with other than vanilla standard furniture or having to scrap everything inside the structures
I found a problem with the home area (mini apartment area) where the stairs outside going up to the second floor is not possible because that floors hole going up isn't long enough for anyone to actually make it up. So settlers more or less just bonk their heads and stand there.
Edit - cappy's cafes second floor is missing a wall and the top floor of the hospital has some fencing/railing preventing you from getting to it.
I like this city a lot. The second release had the same version number which confused both me and Vortex, though. Deleting both versions and downloading and installing again will probably fix it for me.
Sadly, it was too much for my humble mid range PC to handle, in some places I was getting 5 FPS looking in one direction, I turn and look in another direction and my FPS would jump right up again, so it's pretty much unplayable for me unfortunately.
hi.. one thing "I" would do is replace those sidewalks/pavements where the poor tired Brahmin is trying to lie down and rest that whole area should be grassed for the poor things :) .. it must be painful to clip their knees into pavements :( perhaps use a caravan marker further LEFT of the building put a water trough and food trough too :) thats' ALL i can think of :)

I have 10 settlers there already, but I can't find them. Are they invisible? Maybe they're virtual settlers?!
name is already copyrighted and taken .. Skyrim and steam standalone name. just letting you know in-case you get a lawsuit, this is why it might be.
Sorry I pointed this out. It was more of a question and I got my answers below.I have a vague memory of an old Minecraft Mod with the same or similar name.

Still, great effort, thank you again, respect.
