I do think the rewards should be changed from food to happiness, six plants equaling one happiness boost. You can't answer your hunger with glowing mushrooms, but it'll make you happy while starving.
i'm not sure what's going on but i think i'm gonna have to switch to something else if i don't figure it out or there's no solution, but for whatever reason my settlers don't seem to harvest the crops, or not all of them or only when the game wants i guess, i have a sh*t-ton of bloodleaf, quite a few glowing mushrooms, but nothing more than what i have manually and annoyingly harvested on the other crops, and i don't like the idea of having to wait and harvest if the point of getting the mod was not to :( i got the latest version back at the beginning of this month so it is up to date
sorry to hear that- the harvesting is handled through a script in WorkshopParent, so if you have another mod that also edits that script (Northland Diggers for example) you'll get bugs. It might also simply be that settlers havent been assigned to those crops (if you reassign a settler to a crop then it'll do a recount). It works just fine in testing but I'll do a bit more investigation
A good way to test it is putting a water pump, 1 settler, and 12 plants at an empty settlement and then waiting for a production cycle. If there's nothing in the bench it means a cycle hasn't happened, if there's only water it means the plants are broken, if there's both water and ingredients then it's working as it should. In this case I only had water.

edit: pulling it for bugs >:( ill keep working on it tho
The player manually picking still works though.
