I know I won't be replacing them (because the sheriffs are actual licensed Nuka-Cola robots, and the deputy bots are not), but I might make the deputy protectrons.
Actually, what I meant is that in-lore Nuka-World on Tour is a fan creation (not like a mod, but in-game fans), while the sheriffs are products of Nuka-Cola Corporation, so it wouldn't make sense for them to be the other way around :P
I had a weird one off phenomenon occur when i installed this. I was restarting, using another life, did the shortcut where i left the pod, checked on my spouse then went to the console to do up my names and stats. I unlocked the door and the Bounty Hunter robot was there, active and murdering me.
I restarted as it was still there when i restarted from my first save....wasn't there that time.
So it's not reoccurring, which is good, but it happened to me once.
I try to offer both .esp, and .esl where possible. There's plenty of reasons for it.
If someone asks for permission to do something with the mod and need an esp, I don't have to go out of my way to provide a separate esp for them, as it's already available here.
Esl files are always loaded at the top, so you're gonna have an easier time with load orders if you know there's another mod you use in the area. If someone wants to edit the mod for their purpose, they'll have an easier time with an esp.
If you use very few mods (I do), there's no real reason to actually use .esls over .esps, again, due to load orders.
Additionally, some users aren't tech-savvy, have been using only .esps, and don't understand what an .esl is, and are used to using .esps.
Furthermore, having both options here serves as an additional backup of the mod. (Although I do have my own backups elsewhere, one can never have enough backups .)
Finally, while this is not the case with this particular mod, if I chose to update some mod with more content than an .esl could hold, you'd have to use esp if you wanted the update, as the .esl would remain with the older features.
little by little i become less ignorant and more tech savvy over time. though with the brain damage much of what i used to know is gone, it is also now redundant. thanks for the answer it's a world away from modifying DOS,
Do you know if its possible for you to make Chase, the courser from Far Harbour, an optional companion? She's another one of those notable folks that its weird that no one has made working companion mods for(along with the Mechanist, Virgil, KL-E0, previously Pickman but you just solved that problem thankfully)
For a game this old, its a shock to me, but then again I have no clue on the difficulties of setting that sort of stuff up.
I've got KL-E0 on my list and the Mechanist, but I never really considered Chase... I mean, it's possible, and I'll consider it; it's just that I feel like Chase wouldn't really like to leave the place undefended.

Was a heck of a good scare though. I was laughing afterward.

I trust you can find your answer in this.
