Let's just say it's hand painted with whatever was available without any glossy overlays. They're not meant for a beauty pageant. Now that I think about it, this is about what I saw when I did my conscription and painted the military vehicles with whatever they called camo back then... And I really didn't think about it too much, I like it :)
Hello, Great textures. I somehow encounter an issue on the caliber inscriptions where I get white bands instead. I would appreciate any help on what might cause this issue to investigate further on this (I have some ballistic mods installed besides Armament and TR). Thanks again for the mod.
Hi, something is most probably overwriting the vanilla decals without a proper alpha map. You can install the optional file I have provided here for said issue. If nothing else, you should at least find out what other mod has the same decal.
thank you! btw.......i use both this and your other capsule seen some s#*!, but somehow both didnt work, is there any .ini edit i should write? i really like your mod but i didnt know why it wont work :( i use mo2
The attention to rust is really the highlight of these, excellent work. I looked over your power armor station however and I have some suggestions to up your corrosion game.
I do think the scratch marks are a bit over done in SOME areas, and that's because you could improve the look of your textures by seeking out the points of contact. Areas with edges are going to take the most damage, so the wings on the turrets should be just about scoured of paint and heavily corroded. The top of the turret looks excellent, though further down you'd see the scratch marks reduce. The base of the turret should also be massively corroded, as that's where most of the water is going to pool after draining.
Honestly, aside from the normal maps, and maybe just a bit more rust on the base, these things are top notch. Will endorse when my timer ticks over!
I have thought about being more precise but... Have you looked at the spaghetti these textures have inside? :D And not going to lie, I'm lazy. I just want to make something that is presentable and I am in no means a texture artist. There are things that I have noticed too but I will make another pass on these at some point. Thanks for the feedback! I will try and get better with my workflow if my memory doesn't fail me to bad :D
Hey, trust me, no pressure. I've also done some texturing for my own mods and trying to parse out some of the parts is next to impossible without them plastered on a mesh. But yeah, if this is about all you're interested in and are happy with the results all the more power. I'm someone that always wanted more corrosion and rust in Fallout 4, so your mod is right up my alley.
Cheers, and hope to see more from you in the future!
Love your cao overhaul! It's not like "all I'm just interested", more so of an obstacle I yet haven't had the motivation to overcome. Maybe when I'll start making a second pass with these I can look at them with more precision. Having them on a mesh would be something extra. Which has crossed my mind also but haven't yet tried to pursue it further.. I'd say that I'm just complete greenface with texture work with nothing but room to improve :) There are things still to come. I'm just all over the place with the workflow and what I'm working with and when is probably the bigger point.
I imagine there are a lot better ways of doing it, but what I did to retexture the Gamma Gun was to have the mesh and textures in a folder on my desktop, separate from the project. I don't use Blender or any equivalents, so all I had was GIMP and nifskope. I'd alter the texture, save it, then go into nifskope and point the textureset to the altered texture.
That's actually something I didn't even think of, thank you for this :) That's a better way than not doing it any way and I have the tools at hand. Not seeing the forest from the trees and all :D
I've been lookin at those once in a while.. Now, here's a little confession. I didn't touch the text at all. And honestly, I forgot about them.. I might give it a little loose optional at some point. And thank you for being so awesome yourself!
