    IMPORTANT

There was a couple of bugs in the initial version, if you downloaded that already you will need to update or you won't find the outfit in-game. You can either get the 1.1 updater and install that (overwriting 1.0), or completely remove 1.0 and get 1.1 main file. It's the same result, I just included the updater so if you didn't fancy the big download again.

If you haven't downloaded this mod yet, ignore all this and just get 1.1 main file.

Really great, i never used punk mods because they seemed very out of place but you actually made some effort to fit it into the lore. There is a hippie commune and animal rights activists in  Fallout 4, so why should the main character not getting interested into old punk tapes and zines he finds, after getting lied to and his life destroyed by the USA-Gouverment and Vault Tec? Among others.

Punk has been around since at least the 1960s, I wouldn't say it's out of place in the Fallout universe (but likely less prevalent due to the US government brutally cracking down on dissent)

Super cool mod! I know this is a bit old, so shot in the dark, but what hair mod do you use for the mohawk?

really cool mod! I'd probably add a lot punk band names to the list of patches however and put a couple more spaces on the back, that's the main showcase for most jackets and battle vests. it would also be better to make the patches more lore friendly, maybe make some parody punk bands that have been moving around the commonwealth or add patches that call out factions like the institute, BOS and Enclave as well as some pre war patches that called out the worlds oil crisis and rising war tensions.

I know its much I'd suggest adding a location for a abandoned or repurposed punk/night club, I've read in real life Boston during the start of 80s punk in America there was a Punk Club called The Rat, its a pretty famous club close to the likes of CBGB considering bands like Talking Heads, and The Ramones have played there. It could add some immersion and lore to exactly why Punk as movement is even in the Fallout World.

I forgot to say this as well but I'd love to see some crust punk styled stuff as well other music subcultures like goth and metal, I've not seen much metalhead looking stuff and half the Goth stuff on nexus is for coomers

Cheers for the comments, I actually love your ideas! I didn't even think of using lore-friendly, fictional bands for the patches, I kind of just avoided it altogether cause I wanted to stay away from immersion breaking stuff like big ol' Misfits logos and whatnot.

Sadly most of this is above my skill level, though. Honestly I'd be thrilled for someone to come along and make a better version, tons of patches to choose from and everything, and implement the patches system better. The way I did them wasn't great. Literally a new entire texture file for every combination of shirt/patch set, and unavoidable stretching due to body shapes - using some kind of overlays system would be way better. Adding more using my current system would just exacerbate the issues.

Having said that, I'm not against adding like one or two new patch sets if I can drum up the inspiration.

    uh--

I know I'm probably not the only one to say this, but while I agree punk is a great addition to the boston commonwealth, was it really necessary to add modern political gook to it? like, sure, anarchism and fight the power are clear elements to the style and all, but uh... feminism, acab, and antifa kinda umm... dont really fit the concept mold?

maybe I'm just too old here, but the formative punk stuff I grew up with never had those concepts. While I do note that the retrofuturism present in modern fallout forgets a bit of the series' cassette futurism past, I acknowledge that punk works great within the later-- doubly so in boston of all places. in this however I kinda cant help but feel this submission being far too modern. it feels like those COD gun addition mods or those gucci outfit additions; the stuff is too modern and the sensibilities clash with genera. it gives you a bit of temporal whiplash.

What is punk if not antifascist? Fallout has traditionally espoused the vision of organized anarchy in the face of a self-destructive fascist state, you can make it out rather clearly in every game's overarching plot not to mention the series' twisted vision of a post-apocalyptic far-right America. Maybe the contemporary imagery isn't quite fitting for Fallout's retrofuturism, but feminism, antifascism, and counterculture all easily predate many of the games' most obvious 80s/90s inspirations. Forget not the place of PDAs, anti-materiel rifles, and satellite warfare in this PNRPG. And, come on, you've gotta know that the protopunk scene was rife with rude acronyms, including ACAB, FTA, SNAFU... They're in the handbook!

I kinda agree, while punk has lots of anti establishment ideals, adding the mark of a modern day terrorism group (im talking about antifa) probably isnt a great idea.

The antifa symbol is from the 1930s. Talking bollocks about things you know nothing about probably isn't a great idea.

Whoa man, no need to get defensive. I thought it seemed a little insensitive to include them considering recent events.

A much-needed outfit to bring Fallout back to some of its roots. From the very beginning, this series was a gritty, post-modern spin on campy sci-fi and a blatant critique of mid-century wanton militarism and American Exceptionalism. Punk as punk can get, really, taking what's there and turning it on its head, making it work for you no matter what the status quo is. In the 3D games, the closest Fallout has had to a "typical" punk caricature has been the Great Khans, though it's hard to discredit the incredibly punkish possibility of laser-toting cowboy ninjas lurking among Mojave sands. Fallout 3 had a decent try with its raiders, and clearly somebody working on Nuka-World realized Fallout 4 missed that mark, but overall under the flag of Bethesda we've lost out on quite a bit of the classic punk character in this diesel/atom/cyberpunk retro-dark-future franchise. And the modding scene has spent waaay too much time on contemporary brand-name attire rather than helping Fallout once again resemble something like, well, Fallout.

Long story short, thanks for the outfit! Though I hoped it'd be more modular from the name - was thinking along the lines of Niero's BoS gear - it's hard to find more fitting fashion to explore a post-nuclear mid-century apocalypse in than jeans, flannel, boots, and a few scrap patches. Especially love it for Frost, hah.

Thanks for your comment and the pics - your character looks great!

I'm glad to be contributing to the repunkification of the series, lol. I never played the older ones myself but they do seem to lean more that way from what I've seen, yeah. Either way I do agree the modern entries, as much as I love them, are a little too squeaky clean and lacking conviction.

I'm not opposed to expanding the outfit, it does seem there is interest in it. What kind of thing were you thinking in terms of modularity?

No problem, and thanks! Can be difficult to find outfits which work well on a heftier girl, even in this body-crazy modding scene.

Oh, don't change anything on my account, but I suppose I'd expected there to be options for the pouches and armor bits - on/off, alternate positions - as well as a "topless" version - that is, the tank (or T?) without the overshirt. Figure a good way to keep the patches in the design without the overshirt might be to add options for patches on the pants - which post-apocalyptic punk hasn't worn a hole in their trousers? - but that's an idea I just came up with, so it's probably goofy. We were all spoiled by Niero's CROSS series of armors those few years ago, poisoned my vision.

And, again, thanks for the outfit. Eager to see more of what you do.

Hey there, you mean like changing their colour and that? Not currently but I was thinking about adding it, I think some camo option would look good.
