There's weirdness caused by Oni face? I seldomly use it so I had no idea, but you can use any texture, it won't affect anything in the preset, it just that I use Oni for the picture, so it might look a bit different if you decided to use different texture.
It's an asset replacer and hence those assets are used by other NPCs to varying effect. The mod I linked to makes it stand-alone and includes the assets from Oni Face and Asian something features.
