What happens if I don't use the DLC patch while using this? Unfortunately the DLC patch causes a CTD on startup for me.

Cleaning the masters in FO4Edit removes the DLC patch as a master so I assume it's not needed?

It's been a while since I made the patch, but if I recall correctly I added as master to ensure that Vortex would load my patch after it. Should be safe to remove if cleaning does that.

    Hello Exoclyps,

Was FO4edit and creation kit used to make your patch?
I am curious as to what was involved.

Is this deprecated? Sorting through your awesome work Exo, and trying to see if it still should be in my new load order.

I've admittedly not updated it for latest version (assuming any changes needed, as I don't use the CC stuff required), but other than that I don't see a reason not to need it yet.

In short, no. Afaik you still need it.

Would you consider uploading a version that does not require the DLC addon as a master or are the issues caused by said addon? Slightly confused and I am wondering if I should download the DLC commentary addon just so I can use your fix.

Since UFO4P requires the DLCs I don't see why not use it.

Because the DLC commentary always sounded like some extra that you find on a movie DVD. I also prefer to use less intrusive mod versions when possible so if a MA offers a more simple version that still provides most of the important content (in this case the quests) I will always take said lite version.

It's all good, thank you for the response and best of luck with your future modding endeavors

Afaik what it does is that it adds commentary by the followers in Tales for DLC content. So they'll comment on stuff if you bring them to the DLC areas like vanilla followers would.

Kinda too hoped a patch with no DLC requirement would be available i don't use Follower Base game or other so adding the Commentary DLC is just an esp that take a slot for me :/

Funny I thought the same thing when looking at the optional commentary and figured it was the MA's talking you through
areas in the mod, well turns out that is not the case and it was the voice acting of a couple followers from the mod
with other followers in your group the MA just happen to word the optional file wrong.

Any one here have a clue to what master file I'm missing here that the mods plugin says I'm missing?

    Missing Master> 3DNPC_FO4_DLC.esp

I tried searching for it with absolutely no luck.

LMAO!! found the fix right after I posted this,I forgot the DLC commentary file.

Wow! I had no idea how bad it was. I saw this on hot files, so I went into FO4Edit to see if what you claimed was true. It totally is.

I'm here to thank you for making this file, and to showing this to me and opening my eyes. I will most likely remove that mod in my next playthrough. I've had my own issues with the mod, and this is the last straw I needed to nuke it. Thanks again!

I'd argue it's not that bad, just that it touches a lot of vanilla quests; adding dialogues here and there.

Just that a lot of those quests had fixes over the year. With the patch, all is good. :D

You're absolutely right, I am just very picky. I uninstalled Tales because Hoss the super mutant would not stay assigned to settlement tasks. Instead of wondering if it was my load order/mods or a Fallout 4 bug (I'm aware that Codsworth does this as well), I just took the impatient decision and axed it.

Sorry, likely a dumb question. I was just comparing this in xEdit to TFTC 3.01 and UFO4P 2.1.5. The records included in this ESP appear (to me) to already be the same in those versions of UFO4FP and TFTC. Am I missing something, or maybe this is meant for different versions?

Edit TLDR: current TFTC is 3.02 and does benefit from this patch!

It's the records done by UFO4P, yes. But as UFO4P can't load after TFTC, TFCT will restore the edits to vanilla and thus revert all fixes made by UFO4P.

This is why a small patch that make sure that the fixes by UFO4P loads after TFTC is needed.

Sorry, I didn't write that up well at all. What I meant was the records in this mod are already the same in those versions of UFO4P and TFTC. In other words, all three are the same. Unless I'm missing something or maybe xEdit is miscoloring conflicts (which it does do on rare occasion).

It's the same as UFO4P, yes, but TFCT is the same as Vanilla; different from the other 2.
The color in FO4Edit all depends on what mod you've looking at.

Thanks. We're probably just talking about different versions of TFTC then. With the above mentioned versions, I don't see a conflict, for example: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/256615

Good call. I actually did sort of the opposite and forgot about it until now. I found a note to self that 3.02 had regression bugs vs 3.0.1 and so I had marked 3.02 as ignored in MO2. So when I was looking at your patch I had been mistakenly thinking I was at the latest with 3.01. Anyways. 3.0.2 does have older records and your patch would be needed for it. I'll probably stick with 3.01 as 02 is supposed to be only a removal of content due to IRL issues and apparently some regressions. But this patch great for people newly downloading TFTC and getting the latest!
