This was a personal project of mine that I thought others might get some use out of. I'm playing with it in my game and tweaking it as I go, but this feels like a solid first rip.
I'm happy to take feedback and suggestions, but please remember, this is ultimately a mod I made for myself, so my personal preferences will always win out. :'3 That said I may very well agree with you, so post away!
RE: Reporting weirdness, aka I FOUND A FUGLY WEATHER.
Open your True Storms holotape (or the MCM if you use that patch).
Go to the weather control section -- it will tell you the current weather at the top.
Post a report with the weather and preferably time of day. Screenies are great too.
UPDATE: I realize the 1.0 patch options can be a little confusing unless you read carefully. My fomod was not cooperating and I was fed up for tonight, but a fomod is coming when the tedium isn't making me want to jump in front of a bus, lol.
If I have installed (why is confusing for real, like many other explanations in other mods -_-):
See Region Names on Your Save Files
Lightweight Lighting
True Storms
Your PATCH and I need/want Early Sunsets + Radstorms Restored
wich patch I need to install and in wich order?
wouldnt it be better to remove the descriptions from the files (and write: "read the main description" as description, leave the names as they are and specify everything (any combination and which patch files to install/omit)? really... its not that I dont understand what you wrote, it's just that its confusing, it takes too long to understand (and dont give the "sure its right")
also True Storm is confusing in installation... and LOOT broken every load order if all mods not prepped well like you have prepped... just a quote:
so is OBV I dont use LOOT why not all mods respect LOOT app (correct me if Im worng)... and is a shame (a tag like: LOOTready would be enough)
I currently have it installed like this load order and most likely it is wrong:
TrueStormsFO4.esm
Region on Names on Save Files.esp
Lightweight Lighting.esp (Full mod including interiors.)
TrueStormsFO4-FarHarbor.esp
TrueStormsFO4-NukaWorld-FH-Compat.esp
TrueStormsFO4-EarlierSunsets.esp
TrueStormsFO4-EarlierSunsetsFH.esp
TrueStormsFO4-FarHarborExtraRads.esp
TrueStormsFO4-GlowingSeaExtraRads.esp
Lightweight Lighting + True Storms.esp
LWL + TS - Early Sunsets.esp
LWL + TS Radstorms Restored.esp
LWL + TS Radstorms Restored - See Region Names.esp
LWL + TS Radstorms Restored - Early Sunsets.esp
I hate the confusion... and not make me more brain-stronger, but just infuriating and frustrating what makes the brain more efficient is study and reasoning and not only this two obviously you are not to blame for the confusion in the world... and you not are really confusing, theres much worse
I'm having a weird issue using Vortex in regard to a "cyclic interaction" error. LOOT/Vortex is flagging an issue between LL, this patch, Start Me Up, and Publick Occurences Expanded. This only occurs when adding and deploying this patch. I didn't know if anyone came across this and had discovered a quick load order fix. I understand it's load order related. I've tried going into doing that, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what relationship LOOT wants between these mods.
This is just an absolute godsend. I love these two mods together, and I've tweaked it a bit to ensure that I've got miserable weather virtually all the time. Well done and thanks.
Miserable rainy and radstorm weather for Fallout 4 all the way.
It hits the mood for the game's setting just perfectly, and frankly it's still so weird to me seeing lovely clear blue and sunny weather in the wasteland.
What should my load order be with these mods? I was playing with it a bit, but kept getting pink/blue True Storms weather and no radiation outside from vanilla radstorms.
(omitting other mods)
True Storms
Lightweight Lighting
[most of my other mods]
True Storms Early Sunset
TS Far Harbor
TS FH Early Sunset
TS Far Harbor extra rads
TS Glowing Sea extra rads
TS nuka world-FH compatability
LWL+TS
LWL+TS Early Sunsets
LWL +TS Radstorms Restored
LWL + TS Radstorms Restored - Early Sunsets
Should I look around for other possible conflicts? I am using the Midnight Ride modpack, installed via Wabbajack. Should I move the TS submods and patched up in my load order to right below the original mods?
I would say: True Storm plus any extras (early sunset, etc) Lightweight Lighting Lighting Lighting plus TS and any extras (the order you have those looks good)
Uhm so.. I still have really bright nights and there was really foggy in Cambridge police station.. Like Far Harbor had invaded Danse's home or something.. Fairly sure, thats not how this mod should be working? :D Had everything working with the old patch between the mods, though with Darker Nights on cause the nights where to bright.. Now I removed DN as this patch should have fixed the nights, it hasn't though..
Anyone have an idea why that might be? Only mod I have that might effect climate besides the 2 mods patched here are some stars and moon retextures, but those shouldn't effect this, should it?
Just about ready to throw the towel in the ring and head back to NAC X - Can't seem to get LL and true storms to do as I want it to.
What does your True Storms holotape say the weather you're talking about is? If you open it, it'll give you the current weather. Also be sure to run LOOT - the patches are set up so they should automatically sort themselves where they are supposed to go.
(Also, keep in mind, this patch does not touch interiors at all. If interiors are looking off, then you have another mod conflicting with LWL.)
And finally, make sure you update -- I just released 1.0. :) Tell me if you still have problems.
Haven't been using a holotape for true storms, didn't actually know there was one.. Used to use MCM menu while I was running it with NAC that worked fine, removed the MCM cause the other patch said something like disabling most of the stuff that I could edit in MCM.. Had another look at my load order, and I truly can't figure out what might be the problem.. I mean, I have true storms + true storms nuka world and far harbor.. Then I have LWL and this patch, got a retextured night sky (moon and stars) and Fr4sons light tweak.. Other than that, my mods are all weapons/armor/settlements and Heather of course. (People who say they can play without her, haven't played with her.)
Will have a look through FO4Edit tomorrow, see if I can remember how to find conflicts through there, cause I do get alot smoother FPS with this combo rather than NAC, dunno why but that mod has started really bogging down my system recently.
The True Storms MCM can be enabled again at any time, btw. In fact, that's what I used for easy comparison screenshots. But yeah, either it or the craftable? I think? TS holotape will be able to show you a current weather. In fact, if people are running into weird weathers, I'd love reports on exactly which ones so I can take a look. I haven't run into anything too jarring in awhile, but that doesn't mean I just haven't hit that perfect combo where stuff can get weird. :)
That said ... Light Tweaks and LWL have a ton of overlap. They do the same thing. You should pick one or the other, not both. I'm still not sure if you're talking about interiors or right outside Cambridge Police Station in your first post? Also, if you've been ripping out full weather mods and plugging others in and continuing to play, then that's likely to cause issues down the road. Fallout 4 doesn't like removing mods mid-playthrough.
(P.S. Retextures of the stars/moon are fine. I use those too.)
Are you sure about the light tweaks though? It only does the image spaces, diming fake lights.. Might try it without that, but I doubt that would be the reason for the wonky weathers and bright nights I'm experiencing. *shrugs* Also no no, not been switching weather mods during playthrough, I am currently trying to start a new playthrough all the way from that annoying vault tec rep guy.. Started over maybe 7 times this last week, as I've been adjusting mods that didn't play well and mods that had apparently just become to old to function still..
Will continue to try and trouble shoot and return if I find the solution at some point.
The third line of LWL's description says: "This mod overhauls all of the base game + all DLC image spaces, lighting templates and weathers." If you take a look at LWL's screenshots, you'll see it also darkens interiors realistically.
The third line of Light Tweaks' description says: "Adjusted night sky brightness to vanilla values." It edits image spaces, including weather image spaces, too.
I downloaded Light Tweaks and compared them in xEdit. :B
I promise I'm not throwing out information without doing my homework. :) Fingers crossed you get your load order sorted and get your game going smoothly, but you will definitely have to pick between this and Light Tweaks.
If you are just concerned about overbright interiors, LWL handles this very well all on its own.
Hello! I don't use LOOT as it may break my build. I arrange the files manually in FO4edit. Please write what's your order of loading mods? Is this correct? 1. True Storms 2. Lightweight Lighting. 3. Patch

Just wanted to ask, is this still compatible with the new version of LL (4.0)?
