Pipe Gun Improvements is a small overhaul of the pipe gun family that includes balance adjustments, Munitions integration, and a shared attachment system to make pipe guns more viable for low-level or loot-restricted playthroughs.

This is a remake of my older mod Pipe Guns Share Attachments with new features and bug fixes over the original.



FEATURES
  • A shared attachment platform for the majority of pipe weapon attachments:
    • Barrels are shared between pipe guns, pipe bolt-action guns, and pipe revolvers.
    • Grips are shared between pipe guns, pipe bolt-action guns, and pipe revolvers.*
    • Muzzles are shared between pipe guns, pipe bolt-action guns, and pipe revolvers.
    • Scopes are shared between pipe guns, pipe bolt-action guns, and pipe revolvers.*
    • Sights are shared between pipe guns and pipe bolt-action guns.
  • Pipe weapon attachments, object templates, and modcols were modified so that existing pipe guns will benefit from the shared attachment platform.
  • All ammo rechamber receivers (such as .50 for the pipe bolt-action and .45 for the pipe gun) were removed and implemented as Advanced receivers, mirroring other vanilla weapons.
  • In its place, each weapon was given a number of rechambers which offer various damage and/or action point cost adjustments.
  • Pipe bolt-action balance adjustments:
    • Removed the hidden range modifier so that the range is the exact same as a pipe gun. (This is to maintain consistency with the pipe gun since they now share nearly all attachments.)
    • Reduced weight from 3 to 2. (This is to maintain consistency with the pipe gun.)
    • Increased Action Point cost from 29 to 30. (This is to maintain consistency with the pipe gun.)
    • Weapon can now be found in .308 caliber (default), .223 caliber, or .30-06 caliber configurations. Additionally, you can use .303 caliber and 7.92mm rounds if you have them injected into your game.
  • Pipe revolver balance adjustments:
    • Reduced weight from 4 to 3.
    • Weapon can now be found in .357 caliber (default), .44-40 caliber, and .44 caliber configurations. Additionally, you can use .455 caliber rounds if you have them injected into your game.
  • Pipe gun balance adjustments:
    • Weapon can now be found in .22 caliber, .32 caliber, .38 caliber (default), .45 caliber, 9mm, and .30 caliber configurations. Additionally, you can use .40 caliber rounds if you have them injected into your game.
  • Forwarded relevant fixes from the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch.
  • Fixed an issue where Glow Sight attachments didn't use the proper INNR naming rules.
  • Removed unused and unnecessary attach points and properties from various pipe gun OMODs.
  • Adjusted a small handful of names and descriptions.
  • Added an optional Vanilla Reanimation Project patch that resolves conflicts between this mod and Ronald's excellent Vanilla Reanimation Project - Pipe Guns mod installed. Patch is for non-TR version only.
  • Added an optional Syringer Addon Patch that carries over changes to the Syringer. Not recommended to use if you have mods like S.R.O. - Syringer Overhaul installed.

*Also applies to the Syringer if using the optional Syringer Addon patch.



REQUIREMENTS



INSTALLATION
Install using a mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex.

If using the optional Syringer Addon Patch:

If using the optional Vanilla Reanimation Project Patch:

COMPATIBILITY & KNOWN ISSUES
I have not tested this alongside any other mod that modifies pipe weapons. You should assume that any mod that modifies pipe guns will conflict with this mod. This includes mods such as Tactical Reload and See Through Scopes. Please note that I do not use either mod, so I am unable to provide a patch for them.

The only exception would be for mods that only modify textures and meshes (such as gmoi6's excellent Scrap Metal and Makeshift Welds - A Pipe Gun Retexture mod). Even still, I cannot guarantee that there won't be minor visual issues. Use with other mods at your own discretion.

The main plugin does not make any changes to the Syringer. If you want the Syringer to also benefit from the shared attachment platform, you will need to use the optional Syringer Addon Patch.

You can reach out via the Posts tab if you encounter any bugs or issues. However, please make sure to provide your load order and a list of steps to replicate the issue.
