UPDATE INCOMING

Due to next gen update as well as overhauled menu configuration in base mod, it is strongly suggested that you save this update for a new playthrough. Seriously, the new menu configuration makes original mods incompatible with all subsequent updates.

WHAT'S NEW?

  • Fixed Issue with settlers not entering log structures. Honestly never noticed this originally. When I test I rely on whether or not Dogmeat enters the building with me. I guess he was teleporting in when I wasn't paying attention. Turns out it was a mistake with nav cuts.
  • Added auto close doors.
  • Added 3 new hip roof pieces, as well as a flat roof panel. Hip roof pieces are 1 block, 2 block and 3 block sizes. For larger roofs, Type B roof edges can be used to span gaps between hip roof corner pieces.
  • Major addition consists of interior walls, wall panels and wallpaper panels that can be found in both log wall set and steel wall set in base mod. Interior walls are pretty much self-explanatory, use them to create rooms inside log and steel structures. Interior wall panels basically work like wallpaper for interior surfaces of log and steel walls. They come in a wide variety of finishes, including brick, lath and plaster, tile, wood and traditional wallpaper. Other than providing options for interior design, the panels serve a dual function as the solid wall panels facilitate snapping of individual latrine fixtures included with my updated barracks set. Wallpaper panels work the same as interior wall panels, but are used to cover the added interior walls.
  • A demonstration of the new interior wall sets can be seen here:

SUITABLE FOR ALL YOU POST-APOCALYPTIC SKI CHALET NEEDS

Though not lore friendly in the strictest of terms, log construction does date back to some of the earliest colonial settlements in the New World and it stands to reason that due to their simplistic construction, would be some of the first structures erected in a post-nuclear landscape. Or not. This is just my excuse to release a FO4 set of Lincoln Logs.

WHAT THIS MOD CONTAINS

  • Pretty much all the same pieces/parts contained in my steel building set,  just made to look like timber frame/log building components.
  • Working fireplaces in 3 varieties with detachable chimney caps, for use with chimney extensions.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Almost exactly the same as my steel building set. Watch this and pay close attention.

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • There are 2 roof configurations, a short version and a tall version. All posts, beams, and various other parts for use in conjunction with the SHORT roof are labeled as TYPE A. All Parts for use with the TALL roof are labeled as TYPE B.
  • Wall skirts, fireplaces, and any other stone textured objects labeled as TYPE A, TYPE B, or TYPE C have no association with roof construction.
  • Fireplaces can be snapped at the outside edge of both foundation and floor segments found in the log building set menu.
  • Fireplace chimney caps are spawned in when fireplaces are constructed and CANNOT be built from the build menu. Cap pieces can be detached and moved in order to accommodate chimney extensions. Once a sufficient number of chimney extensions have been placed, the cap section can be snapped in place atop the highest extension.
  • When foundations are placed at a height that leaves a gap between a fireplace and ground, fireplace extension pieces are provided to extend the stone façade of the lower fireplace into the ground. Watch the video for a quick demonstration.
  • Deck floors and deck porch floors will need a fair bit of adjustment as they are prone to snapping to wall skirts as well as foundations. In fact, they will snap to any piece with a P-Floor connect point, which is most vanilla construction pieces. For wrap-around construction as demonstrated in the above video, pay close attention that each piece connects to adjoining pieced on the very outside edge and that all outside edges are aligned properly.
  • TYPE B roof dormers come in 2 sizes and are dependent on overall roof size for proper use. The smaller dormer can be used for roofs extending AT LEAST 2 roof panels in width from the outside edge to the roof peak. The larger dormer must be used for roofs extending AT LEAST 3 roof panels in width from the outside edge to the roof peak.
  • As with previous addon packs, all light fixtures found in the log building set menu work in conjunction with the electrical power switch box found in the Yufarley Collection>Power>Switches menu. Large light fixture will snap to the under side of cross bracing, small fixtures to the underside of floor support beams, and lantern style fixtures will snap to either side of any door opening. Duplicate fixtures not requiring snap points can be found under the Yufarley Collection>Power>Lights menu.
  • Due to some poor planning on my part, I found it necessary to inject additional menu elements into the Yufarley Collection main menu. Because of this, I also included an uninstaller chem for the additional menu elements added by this mod. If you plan on uninstalling the Log Building set, and ONLY the Log Building set, go to any chem station and craft the uninstaller, activate it and close your game. Additional Log Building set menu elements will have been uninstalled.
