Safe to install/uninstall in the middle of playthrough. All .esp files have same name so you can change versions during playthrough if you want more/less spawns.

So glad to have found this on Xbox. The amount of times a Vertibird encounter has caused a crash is insane. They're bloody everywhere! Even with mods to help the addled engine along, it still becomes an issue, eventually.

Thank you so much for this. Definitely an improvement and far more manageable.

Edit: Hmm, still finding that they spawn quite often. Sometimes with two roaming around and wiping out areas before I even get a chance to kill anything. Annoyingly, they seem to follow you as well, while you're walking about. No idea if that is vanilla behaviour, but it's unbelievably stupid. No mods that alter their behaviour, just one to make them more resistant to damage.

Guess I'm just having one of those games, where they are a constant annoyance. Time to destroy the Brotherhood, I think. Hopefully that will stop them spawning.

Sounds like a dumb question, but whereabouts would this go in the LO. I just want to make sure I haven't been a dumb arse.

Maybe you got Random Encounter Framework installed and forgot to use patch for it Random Encounter Framework Patch Hub
Mod is very light. I recommend you open it up in xEdit and see if anything changes same records.

Edit: Oh, you on Xbox. Dunno how stuff works there. This mod tweaks random encounters so you probably want to load it after anything that touches random encounters.

No, I don't use REF. It might have just been a fluke that occurred a couple of times in a row, as I was walking around.

Also don't use anything that alters vanilla encounters. The only thing that adds spawns is SKK's Combat Stalkers, which doesn't touch them, so it won't be that. These were friendly BOS Vertibirds, going around in pairs, not the hostile ones that Combat Stalkers can spawn.

It all points to just a bit of typical game weirdness lol.

Having a little break at the moment, as I'm all burned out from Fallout. But I'll continue my save at some point and keep an eye out.

Random encounters are sorted by location and time of day, not by hostility. Quite possible that Combat Strikers and Less Vertibird Encouters edit same records leading to conflicts.

Most of SKK's mods don't affect anything vanilla and are built from scratch. They're damn good for that reason. From the Combat Stalkers page:

"has no dependencies on extenders or DLCs and does not change any existing base game scripts, assets or objects. It is 100% pure new Creation Kit forms and scripts"

This isn't a problem, really. I'm not complaining. It was just strange to see two at the same time, with this installed. Easy to get rid of them. Just fast travel away and back again, reset the cell.

I honestly think it was just a random occurrence. There is that chance in which two spawn points that were fairly close simply happened to spawn Vertibirds at the same time. Then they likely ventured off in the same direction and ended up flying about together.

      It's all good lol.

An absolute staple in any Survival or other playthrough -- especially if you use Hangman's Alley as a base.

*Wishlist for a future option:  A tweak to REDUCE the noise of Vertibirds by approx. 40-50%.  For some reason, a number of players seem to want Vertibirds to be louder; reasons I can't fathom. You get a couple of those Vertibirds flying around Hangman's Alley, you're going to be shooting them down even if you're allied with the BoS. Having 40-50% less noise would go a long way to making them not so bloody annoying.

Don't have F4 installed right now and don't really have interest to do that, sorry. Does not sound that hard to try yourself: Use Bethesda Archive Extractor to find soundfile, open it up in some audio editor like Audacity, tweak it, test it, put it properly in data, done!

I didn't spot it mentioned anywhere so just adding comment the plugin comes esl-flagged (and it's clean, not that I'd expected otherwise).

Damn thank you for this. Always seriously hated how they always get in my way when trying to have a decent fire fight, especially if you plan on joining BOS but have to avoid that big fat ass of a vertibird to not make them hostiles, same with their stupid patrols.

Can we have the opposite? MORE Vertibird encounters? In my game, there aren't enough...

Very happy endorse!  I was used to being swarmed with these things when in down town Boston playing survival.  Get so many my FPS would tank in an already low performance area.

    Thanks so much.

You are a life saver. I was pulling my hair out over how common these motherfuckers were, especially given that the Prydwen only has like four vertibird bays. Thank you so much.

man i love u for this! these damn things spawn way too much its like the BoS came to the commonwealth with 3 million of em and when its 3 at once its becomes so loud to the point i normally just kill them with console command
