Looks pretty good. I would like to see something like this with polymer - perhaps also quite weathered to match the upper condition. Still, this does look like they truly have seen a lot of rough use.
This was one of my first drafts. I wanted to do both wood and polymer, but I almost didn't make the mod, so I just decided just to use wood. Just to get something out. This image is in substance, so it will not look like this in fallout 4. But the idea is there. Maybe in the future :)
That does look pretty good. I would also make the lower receiver polymer as well - MP5 never had a metal lower, to my knowledge. Still, I must point out that the way the rust seems to have formed in places where rust actually tends to like to build up.
Again, great work on attention to the little details that sell the worn, rusted, and abandoned look to it. You absolutely nailed that.
This looks great too! I would prefer if the polymer was more of a washed-out grey color, since plastics don't wear out the same way that metal would. Maybe some subtle scratches on the surface.
If you have the munitions patch for MP5-Complex, it will not work, you will have to patch the RotC mod in order to make it work. What i did was have my order like this after i put in the patch for Munitions: HK_MP5.esp HuK_MP5_RotC.esp (THE PATCH) HuK-MP5-RotC Munitions Patch.esp
Its fairly easy to patch it, you just have to patch the Weapon in the RotC mod. Great mod btw!
I just do not want to start a lore war. So if I just classify it as not lore friendly and and not realistic. I can avoid any long lore discussions around it >.<
A good number of mods use assets from other "modern" games (or look for the EFT look) - hence the modern look most modern weapons come with. It takes some time and artistic sytle to make custom weathered assets. That said your comment seems odd, because high capacity, high fire rate weapons simply wouldn't exist in a "Mad Max" world. I mean even Humongus loads his .44 revolver with just 1 bullet - ammo is far, far too precious. :D
@fraquar Please stay on topic. It is fine to have a discuss around world building and so on. There are other places to discuss lore friendliness like DegenerateDak discord server. This mod is just a silly retexture, that comes form the meme, "it needs more wood" and my preference. Thank you for understanding.
@Crylec I am glad you like it am planning todo a rifle and a pistol, thanks to the positive feedback I am getting.
Don't mind me, my vision of an SMG is a Remington Model 11. 5 rounds, semi-auto shotgun with a slow laborous hand load to get back in the action.... Absolutely great while it's firing though. :D
I see where you're coming from, but Fallout is not Mad Max. There are still active weapons and ammo manufacturing facilities in the wasteland according to Fallout canon (the Gun Runners facility in New Vegas, for example), not to mention smaller manufacturing operations which could exist in vaults, Gunner forts, BOS installations, and so on. This means, even in the post-apocalyptic setting, there would still likely be a steady supply of weapons and ammo entering the commonwealth via traveling merchants, if not manufactured within the region.
I can still believe people can maintain the guns, but considering how industry is nearly dead. It makes sense wastelanders would still find pre war weapon refurbish. They can clean it obviously just want it to look worn down from use and time.
Thank you very much. I am planning on doing a rifle and a pistol with this same style, then I'll see what people think about that and do different style or what not. Had to start with the MP5, because I love the gun. If you had to choose 1 rifle mod that you want to see in this style, what would it be?

No change to mp5 nor there is "skin" to workbench, mp5 still have default polymer texture
No idea why, i don't use mod that overhaul crafting like ECO
