Hi, i have a question, does settlers like workshop NPC pick the ammo from box? Because that would make an excelent adition to a playthrough with NPC actualy consuming ammunition and without the necessity of constant supplying the guards with ammo. Still nice mod.
I love this mod. I have just dumped a load of ammo crafting and other garbage mods out of my game and replaced them with this. The simple solutions are usually the best. I agree with people who say the ammo could have been donated by thankful commonwealth citizens for my good deeds around the world.
You can make up any story you like for why you found ammo in a box. It's no less immersive than standing at a bench making it by hand out of toasters and cow shit.
There is actually a hard limit of how many mods you can have that are associated with Ba2 batch files, it doesn't matter if it's ESM, ESP or ESL, or what your plugin count is. If you try to start a game and go above the ba2 limit, you will get an instant CTD. When this happens, modders can take the small quality of life mods they have (like yours) extract the ba2 file to free up space for more mods.
I can do this myself in just a few minutes, but if you were to make this an optional file, you would be saving people a little time. It's your call.
I have never heard of a .ba2 limit. I myself as of today have 367 active plugins and thereof only perhaps 10 to 15 without ba2 or with loose files. So, what is the limit?
I never heard of the limit either until 4estGimp told me about it when I was getting crashes. (This happened to me at about 500 plugins, I have 700 now.) I dont know the number exactly but it's up in the hundreds. I found about 100 small mods that I extracted the ba2's from and the crashes went away, and I freed up space for about 100 more mods that use BA2's
No idea. I got these from Fallon's. The small box says 1000 cartridges on it. The big green guy at Fallon's recommended the big box for heavy ammo like fusion cores, rockets and fat man ammo.
This is quite making sense and immersive. The non-assigned settler or settler assigned in scavenging station often brings back item and with this mod I can assume they went to find ammunition not for you but for all of them.
This is a nice addition. Thank You for thinking of it. I could see it being extra helpful for a Railroad play through. Pretend that Railroad operatives, backers, or other supporters are buying or obtaining extra ammo for them that is left at drop boxes then collected and brought to a base or safe house.

I think we can assume that someone who mods the game with 500+ plugins also knows how to unzip ba2 files.
Thank you so much! :)
