hello, the mod is pretty good and thanks for what u do for fallout4 ,its so wonderful, but i thinks the teach which help noob understand how to use this mod is so complex, this mod just need to create a folder like this,data/mainmenuwallpapers/your first menu name[all name is ok]/menu files data/mainmenuwallpapers/your second menu name/menu files then it can work well, but will reduce lunchgame time, but just a little, its my computer s wrong? thanks
Its a really nice mod!, specially since there are lots of main menu replacers. I have a problem with multiple videos and music to work, but managed to solve it: -Having anything in "ModOrganizer\Fallout 4\overwrite" related to music / video folder ruins the random selection, i got a (working) black video menu, after erasing those music and video folders its showing the videos again, in case anyone has the same issue and even erasing the mod, deleting .inis, etc. etc., verify you dont have anything already replacing it without the mod.
So this is how i got it to work all files in the same folder: My MenuReplacers folder:Fallout 4\Data\MainMenuReplacers <_ My "drop mods folder" My internal structure: MainMenuReplacers\DownloadedMod\Data\Music\Special\mus_maintheme.wav (yes, .wav works fine) MainMenuReplacers\DownloadedMod\Data\Video\mainmenuloop.bk2
Go to MainMenuRandomizer.config.toml, its path should be similar to: "ModOrganizer\Fallout 4\mods\MainMenuRandomizer F4SE\F4SE\Plugins" Set:Directory = ".\\data\\MainMenuReplacers" 1st Filer:Filter ="Video\\.*"
=Then remove the # from the second Source, Directory and Filter= Set:Directory = ".\\data\\MainMenuReplacers" (Like the first one) 2nd Filter:Filter ="Music\\.*" (Doesnt need all the path, just the initial to not mix it) (Remember to save)
Thats all, it should work (UNLESS you DONT have a video or sound to replace) in wich case you should put the music and video from a mod in the "ModOrganizer\Fallout 4\overwrite\Video" (and music/special) folder (with the original game names "mainmenuloop" and "mus_maintheme"), or validate files to re-download them, just to replace it later in launch.
Did you ensure that every <mod name> folder's contents has its own Data folder (ie. Fallout4/Data/mainmenuwallpapers/<mod name>/Data/Video)? It won't work if it's just "/<mod name>/Video".
Also verify the .toml setting in this mod's folder. Check the spelling of the directories. I'm not sure if it's necessary to separate the Video and Music folders, but it's something to try. Put music in Fallout4/Data/mainmenumusic just like the wallpapers, and make sure to uncomment the music line (and the [[Source]] line) in the .toml file.
Seems to work perfectly fine with MO2, all you gotta do is follow the folder structure in the description and just add the mod to MO2 normally. Thank you!
Please excuse my ignorance, I'm grateful for this mod since there are a few replacers I want to use, but do I have to change anything with the config file if I just want it to randomly choose a directory within the branches we create in data/mainmenuwallpapers folder? Does it work by default automatically without adjusting config file?
And as far as it replacing data within the data folder, that only applies to the specific file names for the specific folders, correct?
Yes, for just mainmenuwallpapers, the default config is fine. You only need to change it if you want to do something more complicated. As for your question about the data, ya it replaces specific files. Basically it just copies the branch in data/mainmenuwallpapers over to data
Thank you. I appreciate you thinking of this and turning it into a practical solution. I ultimately had five replacers I wanted to use in tandem, very nifty this will actually do that.
I use root builder with MO2 to keep things out of my data folder (the reason for the plugin). I understand this goes in the data folder, just was worried that there might be some issue or something. Feel free to disregard, as I haven't even tested it on my end yet.
