You are absolutely right, thank you for teaching me the distinction! I honestly chose the picture because I thought they looked neat but I'd rather not be misleading
lol. You have my utmost respect. I'm a total nerd. Not many people are crazy about sirens and stuff. I think it sounds great, btw. I'll give it a go!
You know it's funny, sirens changed public perception in ways you don't often think about. They can be terrifying. The Chrysler Victory was so overpowered that it could be up to 25 to 30 miles away!
I went through so many sirens looking for this specific one. They all evoked such a sinking feeling in my gut, it's very interesting the power they have
Well they're designed to get you to sit up and pay attention because: a, It's war, you might DIE. b, Bombs are falling near you. You might DIE. c, Just generally, you might DIE cos war again. So heck yea, it's designed to change your perception and pay attention, seek cover, pray, runaway or fight! No one, anywhere of any culture, faith or creed can mistake what that means. Even aliens from another world will pay attention!
Back in the day every town had one of those sirens. We lived in a time of nuclear peril from Russia and we had drills in school (basically so you could kiss your ass goodbye), we also watched the news bits from these just too name a few, good times AMIR?
Trinity — The Birthplace of the Atomic Age. ...
Nuclear Crater Concrete Dome. ...
Semipalatinsk — The Soviet Union's Main Test Site. ...
Tsar Bomba — The Largest Nuclear Weapon Ever Tested. ...
Atomic Survival Town. ...
Bikini Atoll — The Birthplace of Godzilla. ...
BREN Tower at Nevada Test Site.
Then there is also that most nostalgic film "Dr. Strangelove and How I learned to Love the Bomb" with Slim Pickens riding that beast for all he had. EPIC.
I grew up towards the end of the cold war and remember some of those drills. We didn't do them much. For us it was an orderly retreat to the school's basement. I think by the 80's they knew duck and cover was probably not going to work :)
this sounds good, but it's nowhere near as scary as this one sounds. https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxd1NXJeZU-VJXHg5AnBG_k3IYez0zHFqs it also might be good to have multiple going off at the same time but over lapping each other slightly to make the effect even more scary.

That's like a 3t22 or a Carter or something. I can't quite pin it down. Here's what a Chrysler Victory should sound like.
Chrysler Victory Siren
