I was wondering if you could allow me to use these cool little guys in my map overhaul, I plan to have red rocket mega stops like fallout 76, and red rocket rest stops, you can click my profile and check out the locations, and I would like to use these little dudes and make em populate the red rocket stops, I will obv credit you and put your name on my custom Ingame monument, along with my other helper/supporters. Hope you see this!
I mean... yeah? Read the title. Or the description. I'm fairly sure it can't be any clearer. If you want mods that do and add stuff they're not supposed to, you're looking for AWKCR, not mine lol. Mine do exactly what they say they do.
Firstly, I just want to thank you for an amazing set of mods. I wish I had even a lick of your ability, and I would give it a shot myself.
With that said, I was wondering if we could get an alternate texture for this and some of your other mods, like the ones outside of vault Tec HQ; In this specific case, they look a little too clean and unweathered; these robots have been here for 200 years and have survived a nuclear blast and associated fallout, plus the horrendous storms the glowing sea can muster.
Take Codsworth, he's rusted to all hell, and he had the advantage of better weather—even Curie is more weathered, and she was in a vault. These robots are out in the glowing sea!, In my humble and hopefully constructive opinion the tones should be faded like the station and roughed up a bit for IMMERSION!
PS: I'm still downloading it even with that feedback; your list of mods is too interesting to not
Thanks for the feedback, I will consider it (and have in the past), and you are absolutely correct about the 200 years.
I'll give you 2 explanations. First the "headcanon" one, then the "truth" one
For the moment, my "artist's" explanation is that somewhere in the Commonwealth, there's someone like the Mechanist, who actually makes these robots. (And it's reasonable to assume the player character would be able to paint a robot with a fresh coat of paint without wear and tear - if I can do it with a brush, they can do it with a specialized workbench )
Now, to be absolutely honest, the reason why they reason why they're clean is more practical (not counting the fact that I like having clean robots around haha) than anthing. It takes Far less time to paint a robot without the wear and tear, due to the fact that they're separated into multiple textures per robot, and it gets a bit overwhelming to check all of them for errors.
With that said, however, should I find some effective way to apply wear and tear reasonably quickly (I have tried in the past, and most likely will again), you can rest assured that I will release some form of "weathered" paints.
I really appreciate the swift response, and thank you for even considering it. I do hope you find a way to do it; I would offer help, but I want the outcome to be good, as the best I could do is quickly google some rust textures and slap them on in paint. Something tells me this won't work well.
I will certainly be keeping an eye out for any future mods from yourself or updates to existing mods and thankyou for being open and honest. Keep up the good work .
Just gonna say that I somewhat recall that the Creation Club's Doom BFG weapon (and the power armored raider who's carrying it) is at that location so its very possible said quests will end very fast as both could be dead or very injured as soon as you get there.
Oops, well, in the end we need everyone to die anyways :D :D P.S. I can actually see a fight between BFG and Red Rocket protections being a feature, sure would make more sense than the raider just casually waiting there :D
Yeah, I finally got to the area after too many mods that I downloaded, fooled around and then uninstalled...then remembered that I still haven't tested this mod yet.
Here's what I found out:
- Your Protectrons are apparently 'Protected' so they won't die from the raider.
- Turns out the raider is also 'Protected' so they can't die from the Protectrons.
-They kinda join forces as soon as they notice you so you have to not only avoid lasers, but the BFG as well. Ouch.
is there a tutorial or something on how to make custom robot parts? cause I really wanna try making my own mods (I have no modding experience for fallout)
Not that I'm aware of (I prefer to learn through analysis of the creation kit rather than videos though), but I could make one, I guess... strictly speaking to make a custom robot part you need
a. textures - which is fairly simple, but requires basic knowledge of .dds textures and how materials work in Fallout (it's simple once you pass the initial "wtf is this" 10 - 15 minutes) - GIMP is pretty good for this, but really any drawing SW would do b. meshes - if you want to make ones with custom models, you can make do with SW like outfit studio for remaking assets, or you'll need some Blender knowledge (essentially just UV mapping for ^a and some basic 3D model making) c. some basic creation kit knowledge, mainly some familiarity with with the DLC01 data module - aka the files added by Automatron DLC
Now, it may sound a bit overwhelming, but it's really about how comfortable you are with learning new skills... Time estimate... I think within 20 hours of practice one could be able to make fairly nice new parts... with each new part taking anywhere from 15 minutes to a couple of hours based on how complex they are
Of course, it's a set of creative skills & things, so it's highly individual once you get down to specifics^^
Overall I love the concept, but I feel like they're out of place in the glowing sea unless you know how to make them more destroyed looking. Is there a way to make the model have broken glass and/or rusted flecks of paint coming off of it?
Eeh, I made this mod as a delivery mechanism for the paint I had lying around, more or less a quick one-off mod. The main reason why they're at the glowing sea is compatibility with other mods... lore-wise, considering their numbers and weaponry (+ red rocket cores powering them), it's not unlikely that they'd be in a preserved state in that particular location - and we've seen swarms of these bots in West Virginia near the Red Rocket location... while the glowing sea is a hostile location, the other red rockets are near far more hostile places (the main dangers being raiders and super mutants).
Alternately, it could also be a magazine one finds, like a RR newsletter or something meant for station managers talking about the new paint job/robot attendants.
Like the hot rod magazines that give you the armor paints...

Again, thanks and got anymore coming down the Pipe?

Just a thought.
Alternately, sometimes people offer their skills for this sort of thing... sadly, I'm not one of them as I have no skills.
I use the Red Rocket safehouse mod, so these will be nice to have around them.
