This is amazing. In most american cities today, a vending machine with this much glass wouldn't last one WEEK and we're supposed to believe these would still be fine after 200-300 years when dat fukken pie is staring us IN THE FACE?!
It would only make sense in settlements where the machines have been repaired and are being used by the store owner.
Yea, known issue to do with video memory and the way CK handles shaders. I'll need to add an entirely new material or object for the broken version, thanks for reminding me!
Cool idea, but I have a couple of questions before I download: 1. Does it only work with melee weapons? Seems to me shooting it from a distance should work as well (albeit maybe only with a powerful enough gun) 2. Have you considered an option to repair the port-a-diner with a high science skill and appropriate tools in inventory?
Hi! Thanks for the comment, let me answer those for you! 1. No, it works with melee, guns, crossbow bolts, heck, even grenades! (Although if you try that, bewarned the pies may go flying in unexpected directions depending how close the grenade is!) 2. I have not! That would be the first time someone's suggested it! It would take a script override on the PortADiner itself however... will need to figure out how to do that! (Will need to look up how the generator handles being destroyed while replacing the activate script with 'repair')
In case it wasn't clear, I wasn't talking about repairing a smashed Port-a-Diner, but repairing a mostly-intact one so it would immediately give the pie (there's a variable, "forcePieSuccess" I think, for that - the Port-a-Diner at Nuka-World junkyard has that set, and Port-a-Diners added by other mods sometimes have that set)
As far as pies flying in unexpected directions, that already happens to some extent - I once had one land just below the spot where the roller tray opens up, so I couldn't reach it and had to reload my save. I also noticed that it doesn't check whether I've already obtained the pie - if I've used vanilla means to get a perfectly preserved pie from a Port-a-Diner, shooting the same machine will spawn a new pie.
Yeh, sadly that seems to be tied to animations. I'm new to CK so I'm not sure how to tie in animations into the script that knows whether the pie has already been won or not.
sometimes you think about a mod and you ask "has someone made this before?" and you look it up and someone indeed has and this is one of those occurances :)

Hope that answered your questions!
