I always did feel like the BOS felt completely out of place in and even subtracted pars of FO4's story. Like, I feel like the game should've 100% further leaned into the conflict between the Railroad and The Institute, along with giving more nuance to all of the factions alongside the Minutemen as well. The BOS just feel like they just shouldn't even be there, like if it was JUST Paladin Danse and his recon team, I think that would actually work quite well and would make total sense, since according to Danse there has already been a few recon teams before his who were sent to the Commonwealth. I feel like Bethesda having four separate main factions in the game unfortunately meant that none of them got the focus they deserved.
I thought it was worth mentionning that I installed this mod after killing Kellogg and before calling the elevator to access the roof : no Prydwen arrival.
I installed SKK Fast BOS (ArcJet triggers Prydwen) while inside Fort Hagen and before going to Kellogg too for what it's worth and on a prior save without this mod but with SKK, the Prydwen did arrive so your mod seem to work 👍.
When I do ArcJet I'll come back to report if it's alright.
Hmmm... Well, I guess so, but you'll need them in order to complete the Institute questline if you're siding with them. In that scenario, killing them would result in a soft-lock in completing the game.
Honestly if you could remove the main quest line as well i would feel even better. Something like skipping the "i'm looking for my son" part, especially with Nick (which triggers looking for a clue and reunions).
Ah, Babaloo321, one can still safely install this mod, while standing outside Fort Hagen. The trigger to make the BoS fly in *must* be something that happens *inside* Fort Hagen. I intend to investigate further.
You didn't definitively say when to install this. I just started a new play through, my last save is right outside Kellogg's house after discovering the evidence. I hope I can download and install this before leaving Diamond City. What is the absolute latest you can install this and expect it to work? And thank you by the way. I hate going near the Cambridge Police Station especially before killing Kellogg and hearing Danse fighting ghouls. It shouldn't happen but I had just cleared out Hangman's Alley and was wandering around, when sure enough the fighting had started. I made sure not to interact with Danse. There is something wrong with quest triggers in that area, more than just slow framerates.
As far as Danse and his team goes you can either ignore them or do as I do. I find a perch and let the ghouls do their thing and once it levels out I simply snipe them and put an end to the BOS influence in the commonwealth. They contribute nothing and offer nothing other than a militaristic authoritarian rule and nothing more. Since the death of Owen Lyons the Bos turned to something else entirely.
"They contribute nothing and offer nothing other than a militaristic authoritarian rule" They rule themselves that way, they don't care for ruling anyone else lol. They clear out hordes of super mutants, ferals, raiders, etc..., but yes, they contribute nothing lol.
"You should be fine to use this as long as you haven't started Reunions yet."
Do you mean to say that, as soon as Dogmeat gets involved (the start of this quest), one should no longer install this mod? Because in my main save, I've already followed the mutt to Ford Hagen, I just haven't gone inside, yet. And I would so like to take care of this Kellogg dude, but I'd hate to see all them bucketheads invading the CW already.
