Pretty cool, too bad it won't last long here.

Why is that? There's already a mod that changes the names of liquor to real world names and that is still here. How is this any different? If you believe it's a copyright infringement thing take a look at half the files on the Nexus. Plenty of "real world" food mods also. All of which are still here.

I have never had one of my Real World Drinks mods taken down. They have been on the Nexus for a few years now.

I was just thinking about the Boston Red Sox uniform retexture. This wouldn't have been the first, or the second, or the umpteenth mod to fall victim to the copyright trolls, even though they all fell under non-commercial fair-use exemptions to copyright laws.

The MLB works really, really, really hard to put an official holographed sticker of approval on all things featuring their brand and licensing - and of course to retain those licenses. They make most of their money off of branding, not off of actual baseball ticket sales (which are pretty cheap BTW; you can sit in the bleachers at Fenway for $22).

I don't know that Sam Adams cares as much. Gwinnett is never portrayed badly in-game; they just make beer. They'd probably just be happy to see so much enthusiasm. They make their money off of booze. Their factory tours are even nonprofit; all proceeds go to local charities.

What? No 'Gansett? Who could forget that famous tag line "Hi neighbor, have a 'Gansett!" How can you have Boston area beers and not include Narragansett beer from Rhode Island? RI is only a few miles south of Boston. The beer is still in production, though I guess it was never that popular outside of RI. Oh well, never mind. :-/

Sam Adams alone has many different variations to their brews. I've been looking for a mod that simply changes Gwent and its variations to Sam Adams and their variations. But this is pretty cool too.

You want a Sam Adams only version? Give me the names of the drinks you think should be in it, I get to work on it.

As much as I like the variety and appreciate that you made them, I think making it all Sam Adams varieties would be a lot easier for inventory maintenance just so we don't have to go looking for different brands and they would all be in one place alphabetically. I would probably use this version too.

I saw that during testing. A bit of a pain. I just need some ideas for what Sam Adams drinks should be added. I need a brew, stout, ale, pale, and a pilsner replacer.

It takes place in October, so how about trading one out for the Sam Adams October Fest

I got the textures for octoberfest back when I started the mod. I will see if I can replace one with it, just got all the undamaged templates finished last night.

Edit:That's a German lager, so it will be an optional replacer for the Boston lager.

This is great. I have been wanting something like this. I have half of those beers sitting in my fridge right now. Although Chocolate Stout comes available in November and the war happened in October. Harpoon Grateful Harvest Ale actually comes out right around the time the bombs fell. Also it would be cool if you could change the 90 years on the Sam Adams bottle to reflect the amount of time that would have passed in the Fallout world. Anyway either way great job and thanks.

I don't drink any of these beers, so I will rely on you guys to help me out getting my facts straight. I can replace the chocolate stout with greatful harvest, but what year should I put on the sam adams bottle? 2077-1984=93. 90 just looked better

Oops I need to replace Chocolate Stout with a stout. Harpoon Imperial Pumpkin Stout ok?

I like it Pumpkin stout will work. In all honesty even if you wanted to keep the chocolate that would be fine also. Assuming it would have come out in November there would probably be lots of stock sitting around. On the 90 years I didn't even realize you changed it. I assumed it was a normal bottle label. I like it I say keep it.

Very cool. Did the ice cold versions get renamed too? I guess I can just download it and find out....

Edit: Yes, yes you did. Excellent as always.

I tried to change all the references I could find, not sure how to change the terminal menus, I could not find them in FO4Edit. Glad you enjoy it.

Why is an .esp file used for this mod?

This mod accomplishes what it does by overriding vanilla entries. There are stored in a plugin [*.esp] so that the game can read the information when they load. If all the mod did was replace textures it would not be necessary, but as the mod author stated in the description the names of the objects and their corresponding recipe items have also been renamed in the interest of consistency.
