Using this mod with console commands to quickly recruit/remove the automatrons as a companion is really nice, effectively lets you have an automatron that won't have any wonky recruitment dialogue jank by removing said dialogue altogether. I know it's completely unintentional usage, but it works great for me.
Too bad that this mod is abandoned. Also waiting for N.I.R.A.'s voices (normal and hacked), and Also Doctor and Nurse Handy and Handies and Gutsies Voices from Galleria.
To be more specific, look up OMOD records starting with DLC01, look up regex phrase DLC01*assaultron, then pretty much just do what Beth did with assaultron voice OMOD
Is this compatible with other Automatron voice mods? I'd like to try both this one and the "More Robot Voices for Automatron" mod. Thanks in advance :)
Hey there! I tried using various robot voice mods including this one but I can't seem to get any to work. No matter what voice I equip in the workbench, my robot will always sound like the standard male voice. By now it also happens with the mods disabled. Verifying game files didn't help. No conflicts visible in xEdit.
I understand that this might be the wrong place to ask but I'm at my wit's end and getting desperate.
Hey, there are a whole lot of things that it could be.
Standard question set: 1. Have you tried it with a new game? Some mods don't quite uninstall correctly. This would allow for a mod conflict to exist even when uninstalled. Especially when dealing with similar mods. 2. I know you've tried with no mods, but have you tried a new game / clean save with no mods?
Now, if it's not those, it sounds to me like there might be remnant files from some mod or another replacing original voice files, which wouldn't be detected by verifying game files (loose files). I would suggest verifying this by checking if there are files in Fallout 4/Data/Sound/Voice/DLCRobot.esm or anything similar in the sound folder that may be replacing them.
One drastic way to ensure that nothing remains is uninstalling FO4, removing anything in the data folder after the uninstall (Ideally backing it up somewhere), then installing a clean version of FO4 without the contents of data folder. Of course, it could be a different issue entirely, but this usually solves all issues which aren't mod related.
Thank you, I'll try those things once I'm home. I forgot to add that the desired voice works normally if a new robot is created and then it switches. Feels like something is overriding the voice but I don't know what could cause it.
So after trying your suggestions, it turns out that the error does not occur on on new saves, both clean and with the same modlist. I should have thought of those suggestions myself, sorry. So I suppose something got borked on my current save specifically. not sure if anything can be done about that :/
I'm not even sure if anything could be done at all. Editing save files to change inventory or something is one thing but removing bugs sounds impossible to me. In any case, I thank you very much for your time. I'll just suck it up and dabble more with robots on my next playthrough :)
This mod looks great, and I can't wait to try it out. I have a question/request though. Could you add a voice that will turn a robot into a Drinkin' Buddy, complete with the ability to cool drinks and whatnot? I tried to do that a few years ago, but could never crack that nut.
Hmmm, very interesting idea... technically it should be possible, the modifications are pretty powerful. I'll add it to my requests and see if I can crack it at some point. (As always no promises though )
It wouldn't be difficult, but I'd need the voice files - which would mean having someone record them (or doing it myself, which would be possible, but timewise it's not), which would mean monetary cost. Aaaand currently, I don't want to spend assets on that. Of course, one could rip the voice files out of NV, but that'd be against Bethesda's ToS.

It may take some effort for the Gutsy, Handy, and Nanny, but with the Protectron it would be right at home with how they speak.

Thanks for your efforts!
Asking just bc Im probably dumb and dont interpreted the mod descrption as intended.
If I recall correctly, all of my automatron mods should add things and replace nothing.
