This mod would have been perfect it it was a little bit more quiet. I want loud sounds, but this is too much. Since the melee sounds are much louder relative to all other sounds in the game, you don't really have much choice to reduce it.

Sounds good but it's unbelievably loud, is there a way to tweak it?

Check the new version, I'll release a separate lower volume version if it's still too loud

I downloaded the 1.2 version instead and that was not as loud. So, right now I recommend the 1.2 version, it's loud but not as loud as the latest and works really well overall. Great mod, thanks alot.

Are the sounds actually different or did you just increase the volume on these? These seem way louder than before the install.

yes they are louder, better defined in the 3d space ( distance fade and such) and have specific FX chains to emphasize certain aspects of the sound all done through the creation kit and in this case without adding any new sounds, did you like it or would you prefer a quieter version?

This a good mod but it sounds a bit cartoony to my ears. I prefer lower volume melee sounds.

So I've noticed that when in power armour bullets tend to be audible when shot at. Would this philosophy also apply when getting whacked with melee when the player is in power armour?

Also, side note. I've not seen anyone mod the bullet impacts when in power armour. In vanilla, there's some bullet sound effects coupled with some player grunts. I think it'd be a cool idea if somebody made it so that you're basically Iron Man with bullets clanking against the power armour pieces up until one of those armour pieces have broken.
I think the bullet sfx in vanilla would mostly work at first. It always kinda bothered me that the player character sounds like they're in pain when in power armour, where the lore on the loading screens says that power armour is supposed to be like a tank...

try my other mod, bullet impact overhaul, you're going to be satisfied
as for the melee sounds in power armour, this mod should cover them but I admit it's been a while since I checked its full functionality (I very rarely play with power armour, what were your results?)

:O oh, I've just installed the Bullet Impact Overhaul, havn't gotten round to playing through with it yet but I'm gonna check it out later tonight.

Similar to the Bullet Impact I'll test out the Melee too, starting a new save so gonna need to spawn me in some armour. Again will check it out later tonight.

Need supports!  I want to setup soundfx volume myself,Which values should I adjust in the FO4edit?

look for the active sound descriptors, they should all start with "FXMelee", by manipulating the "static attenuation" value you can lower the volume, as far as increasing it it gets a little more complicated because I purposely didn't want to edit the base sounds as they are loud enough, so I went with a custom sound output model attached to a custom fx chain with some overdrive and various filters to emphasize ccertain aspects of the sound, generally speaking you want to increase the output of the overdrive if you want more volume but it will also generate distortion so go easy on it

If you find it too difficult, just ask me what changes you would like and I'll maybe make a separate version for different tastes, let me know

Haha.  Definitely it's so hard to adjust values myself.I just want to lower down the melee sounds.Because I always scared by the voices when NPCs attach me on back.:(
Your mod Physics Sounds Overhaul's newest version which I‘m using has GREAT performance in gaming. So I just hope if you can release an option version of melee sounds overhual both bullets impact overhual to lower down the soundfxs a bit.I'm not sure is that my problem(using HRTF) of your mods' audio-SFXs louder than other mods a lot.For example, bullets impact sound-sfx can louder than firing sounds-sfx in close range. So I want balances between sound-sfxs.
The last, your mods all so GOOD, continue working and release more mods.Cheering.

Just a heads up currently (version 1.1) this mod breaks directional audio for melee impacts (check bugs section for more info)

I believe this is the fix

There are 122 SOUND DECRIPTOR files with BNAM changes for more volume

There is also one new SOUND OUTPUT MODEL file

Each SOUND DECRIPTOR has the default model replaced with the new model

In FO4Edit I dig drag and drop 122 times to restore the sound model

I also right clicked the SOUND MODEL field and removed it from the mod

I'm sorry I didn't change the bug status as fixed, either way the "fix" is just to go into the sound output model and check "uses HRTF", it was a rookie mistake I did but it's been fixed, everything is fine now :)
also the sound model is important and will be important in future updates, it allows me to modify sounds in bulk, apply custom fx chains and organize my work much better, so absolutely do not remove it from your mod! you'll just revert it to vanilla with slightly higher volume and some frequency variation, you lose 90% of my mod

Understood. I see I have the 1.1 file so I am getting the new file now. I do manual install and don't allow anything to update. I will run the full esp now. You can remove my posts to spare people confusion if you like.

Thanks for working on the directional end. I hope this gets along with Meleebangs (the melee decals mod) as a hard hit from a pickaxe or whatever melee madness we've installed should not only make some noise but leave marks and shards.

It should be fine because they modify completely different things, my mod doesn't touch in any way the decals or injuries on bodies in any way
