This is a mod that needed a utility to make use of it... and that utility is active! The mod Custom Companions and Settlers (for those truly sick of radio beacons and Sim Settlement users) is used to create... custom companions and/or Settlers which you then assign a name, appearance, and voice.
This mod gives us so many more presets for assigning the appearance with just a couple of tweaks, as that uses the preset function of Looksmenu.
I was looking for vanilla-style preset collections that didn't require tons of other mods, and these came to the rescue! Thanks! Some of the faces cause stretched out textures that take up the entire character creation screen. I'm not sure what's causing it. All I have loaded on my mod testing save is SKK fast start new game and the unofficial patch.
update: out of the appearance menu, during actual gameplay, the faces with stretched out textures look completely normal. That's if done through the intro, but outside of the intro this geometry error carries over into the game. might it be an apparently it's a common issue with looksmenu? you can deal with it temporarily by exiting the preset menu, selecting one of the original vanilla presets, and going back to the looksmenu presets.
When i was selecting NPCs to include, i didn't have any plan. I opened Fallout 4 wiki, found list of NPCs, and went over them one by one, looking for any that somehow stood out - be it if they were ugly, or pretty-ish, or casual looking, or just relatively well done (that mostly applied to men - a lot of them look way better than the women, it seems the designers at Bethesda were really bad at making women faces). I didn't have clear rules. Sometimes i included an NPC because i remembered it, sometimes i excluded an npc because i remembered it :) Sometiems i thought this or that npc is active in too many quests, so it would be weird when player meets that NPC wearing same face. Sometimes i included an NPC for no other reason than that i felt i need more of them :) And especially the female NPC were included in a very chaotic way, because MY original goal at that time was still to choose a male preset for a new playthough, so i wasn't particularly interested in female NPC at that time. In short, the process was a complete mess.
I don't know why i didn't include Kasumi, but i did look at her (the page is in my browser's history), so apparently, i decided not to include her for some reason (probably an utterly stupid reason). And Kasumi is not the only one that may be seen as missing, i also omited almost all followers, but for some reason i did include Piper (and i don't even like that NPC! :)).
So, i will be updating it soon-ish, adding Kasumi and other "missing" NPC others point out. But it is sort of a balancing act - on one hand maybe i should add more, on the other, i definitely cannot add ALL, so where do i draw the line? what criteria should i use? ...i think i will leave it to other ppl., to point out what they are missing, and we'll see how that goes.
Are you sure you didn't mean "074 Eve" ? :-D I am joking of course, but i wonder what's the story there? What Bethesda did to that NPC face seam intentional, but why? I don't even recall seeing that NPC in the game, but there may be a lot i haven't seen (it is what happens when you spend more time modding games than playing them).
