Darn iz back! It looks so much better than vanilla. Endorsed. DarnUi was the first Fallout mod I downloaded ever; and from then always the first thing I installed before any playthrough in FO3/FNV. Thanks so much for this.
@cerebii : One thing I'd like to know though, can I change the font size and/or positioning in certain fields somehow? The text in the field for cycling inventory categories in the trade/loot menu for example (<WEAPONS/ARMOR/AID/...>) is not centered, it sits a little lower than the two cycle arrows; I think it'd already make a difference if I could globally increase the Darn font size, but it would be even better to be able to adjust the text position in individual fields on the y-axis (up/down) - dunno how to describe it any better, guess my english is a bit more rusty than I believed^^.
Will look into it. T'is just cosmetics, so it'll wait until my setup works in all other regards, but I'm a nitpicker about my interface optics^^. I have never meddled in those files before so I'm a bit apprehensive, but what are backups for, right? And if it teaches me another bit about making this game do my bidding in the process, all the better. Thanks for the advice.
Well, can U define the difference between mod-user and modder for me^^?
If you look inside the mods I mangled through xedit, and that MYPATCH.esp at the end of my load order, there's edits in about 20 categories. Some minor, like a bunch of replacers-turned-additions, or COBJs for statics/lights/clothes/chems etc that had none before; some pretty major, like nuking half of the entries in Fungal Commonwealth to make it play nice with A Forest. Does that make me a modder, or just a mod-user (or in my case, more of a semi-Luddite^^)with some dangerous half-knowledge* on how to bend this darn game into a shape I like?
*dunno if that translates into english; "gefährliches Halbwissen" is a german term, implying you can do more harm than good with superficial/incomplete knowledge of a task you're trying to accomplish - i.e. folks trying to mod FO4 (or any Fallout for that matter) and hoping LOOT will auto-sort a 300-mod load-order.
I got so stoked to see this mod on the nexus! my only problem is; I'm using the MAIM HUD preset and can't get most in-game hud elements to use this font. Any suggestions? Alll my menus work fine, it's mainly the quick-loot menu and some other elements that don't work.
You'd need to edit every font setting in FallUI to default. Likely need to resize it as well. I use Bravo HUD and had to do the same thing as they like MAIM use a different font out of the box.
def ui also have a HUDMenu.swf file and it conflicts with your mod the font works fine if i dont use your HUDMenu file but there are some alignment issues, its not a big deal i just ignore it because this font is much better lol ty for making this :D
I've looked at the included editor in DEF_UI, unfortunately I can't get it to do what I need as it groups together large chunks of the UI rather than letting you edit specific small parts (like bits of text) like FallUI does.
Is there a specific reason you need to use DEF_UI rather than FallUI?
This is awesome. I actually noticed the XP overlap but it wasn't anything to stop me enjoying the font. I noticed the new version and am enjoying it now too. Way to go above and beyond for the community. Cheers!
Yeah I see what you mean now, the 0's are a bit too wide... I'll fiddle around and see if I can come up with a fix. Edit: Fixed the problem, and some other alignment issues, required me editing the HudMenu.swf file though.
Thank you for this mod. It fixed alot of text bugs where it would not show words and instead have a bunch of boxes. Now I can finally read like 95% of the games text.
The screenshots of Ada east of Ivanpah Racetrack (or is it raceway?) with the Unification Monument in the background and Mr. Holdout in front of the Gomorrah almost makes you wish for a nuc... no, stop, inspire me to investigate the New Vegasification of my Fallout 4. Thanks.

If it's something I can quickly fix I'm happy to do so
And thank you for the kind words :)

Edit: The HUD ammo count on the right side is chopped off. I'm using vanilla hud too.
