A Cooking Mod
for Fallout 4
Brew coffee, make jerky, craft improvised "wastelander" meals, assemble field rations, create homemade versions of old world foods, and more with this specialized cooking mod.

This mod introduces new recipes utilizing new and existing ingredients in order to create complex dishes and drinks with powerful buffs, which can be crafted at a new, unique cooking workbench for settlements.
Smoke meats from different cuts of meat found on the different animals and creatures scattered throughout the Commonwealth. Hungry for a Mole Rat Leg, Nuka Float, or Cram Stew? Craft all of these dishes, plus desserts, soups, pastries, teas, and other beverages by combining new and existing ingredients. Don't have the newly required ingredients? Craft them using Fallout's existing items so you never run out!
This mod seeks to add a viable alternate expansion to the vanilla cooking crafting system. It is NOT meant to replace Fallout 4's cooking system.

How it Works:
Smoked Meats: Focus on increased buffs to vanilla foods, while providing additional combat bonuses
New Foods: Focus on a mix of HP and AP restoring buffs.
Homemade: Focus on recreating old-world items through wasteland means.

This mod features the main cooking core which acts as a framework for optional plugins that allow you to further customize your cooking experience.
There are a lot of other cooking mods out there, so to prevent conflict as much as possible, this mod is entirely standalone. No vanilla cooking recipes are altered by this mod.
This mod is not intended to be a 'pristine' cooking mod, but more of a survival, "use what's available" attitude, with a few liberties taken throughout.
Nuka world, and Far Harbor are required for the default CORE of this mod. The expansions are separate, but assets from both DLC's were used to create the base CAF framework.
Cooking Adventures in Fallout Core:

The Main Core Features:
- 55+ New recipes to craft 50+ unique dishes
- Find the workbench in the Concord Bed and Breakfast and craft it inside your own settlements under the crafting tab.
- Special Request? Want to add these workbenches or use these items/foods in your own player home/mod? Either contact us or use the CAF core to do it yourself, permission free! Find the items/recipes in CK under "CAFWorkbenchStat, CAFNukaFloat ...etc"
Implementation:
CAF features certain ingredient and food implementation across the commonwealth. Certain ingredients like milk, meat cuts, and certain foods are already incorporated into Fallout 4's lists. Here's an example:
Where to find milk:
Milk machines: 1x
Certain cooler and fridge chance%: 2x
Brahmins: 2x
Molerat Brood Mothers: 3x (chance %)
Coffee now has an almost guarantee chance to spawn in coolers, super mutant meat bags have a high chance to spawn meat scraps and chops. Almost every animal spawns a guarantee meat scrap, while larger animals have meat chops and only certain animals like Radstags and Mongrels have ribs.
The CAF Core is meant to be mostly standalone to avoid conflicts with leveled lists and other mods, if you would like further implementation of CAF items into the Commonwealth through vendors, traders, loot, etc.. download our implementation extension in optional files.
Nuka World Expansion (Optional):

The Nuka World Expansion adds CAF functionality and certain CAF workbenches to Nuka World and its creatures.
Craft cold versions of any of the Nuka drinks using 1x Cryo Cell.
Smoke all of the meats found on Nuka World's Creatures, and make your own homemade Nuka Cola!
New recipes themed around Nuka-Cola itself!
(Also recommended if you use a mod that introduces Nuka World creatures to the commonwealth)
Far Harbor Expansion (Optional):

Adds new recipes, ingredients, and foods centered around the far harbor expansion. Many foods offer fog buffs and rad resist effects. Adds new fish-based recipes, find new foods and ingredients at The Last Plank, or craft them yourself.
Backyard Chemistry (Optional):

A small Chemistry expansion that introduces 17 new chems that can be created at the vanilla chemistry station. The chems are focused on combat buffs and modifiers. They can be found under "Specialized Chems". Some may find these recipes useful, others might find them "overpowered/immersion breaking", it's up to you to decide for yourself.
CAF Implementation (Optional):
Further incorporates CAF items such as food, and ingredients into leveled lists of the wasteland. Find CAF foods and important items at vendors, and in loot containers. Furthermore, find additional CAF workbenches placed throughout certain interiors in the Commonwealth for easy access.

Disclaimer:
Most creature item lists were altered to include the new CAF items so you should be able to find most ingredients by hunting and gathering. Other lists like coolers and refrigerators were also altered to include some CAF cooking ingredients like milk and coffee. If you use other mods that heavily alter these lists, conflicts may occur.
The food does not include compatibility with Survival mode/other CC survival features or other mods at the moment. meaning they will not restore "hunger" or "thirst" when consumed. If you would like to create functionality for such mods in a form of a patch, please feel free to do so.

Unpack and place the .esp files in your corresponding Fallout 4 Data folder:

Getting started with CAF:
To get cooking, one simply needs to construct a CAF exclusive workbench for their settlement, found under the crafting workbenches section or locate one in the world.
To cook many dishes featured here, cooking oil is required. It can be already found throughout the commonwealth or constructed at a CAF workbench using oil.
Many dishes utilize razorgrain and many of the other natural plants/herbs found throughout FO4, make sure you have ample amounts of these to craft the many new dishes introduced.

This mod should work with other mods/CC DLCs.
If you encounter any incompatibles with other mods/CC DLCs, please let me know.
Known Issues:
Incompatibility:
- The placement of the Concord Bed and Breakfast may conflict with other mods that modify the concord world, ie overhauls, flora modifiers, etc.
- Potential to conflict with other cooking mods, not certain, but is possible.
Future Plans:
(Subject to change)
- Tweak the amount of meat found on creatures/increase the required amounts for recipes.
- Survival patches as demands arise, that being said, if you would like a specific patch for CAF items for another mod's survival functionality/food functionality make it known. If enough users want one, a specific patch will be made.
- Fix a few minor object placement errors found, and add a map marker to the Concord Bed and Breakfast
