I absolutely love this thing! It fits perfectly, and works without any trouble. There are many other SMG mods that introduce many modern high tech SMG into the game, but I always return to this for my player's SMG weapon. In fact I collect and buy as many as I can to equip half my settlers with a basic version.
The 'Makeshift Grip' and 'Improved Grip' don't have any 'WeaponType_' keywords, so they won't receive benefits from any semi-auto damage-increasing perks (like Gunslinger and Rifleman). Is this intentional? Awesome gun btw, I love it.
Just an oddity of this weapon I'd like to point out for those who wish to use it: the damage scaling from various modifications is a little unusual for this game. For instance, while the regular 10mm pistol gains about a 75% damage increase from its best semi-auto receiver option, the Security SMG gains only about 50%. Furthermore, while the 10mm acquires a 20% damage boost from its best automatic receiver, this SMG actually loses about 15%. Just something to be aware of if you're trying to balance your mod list as intently as I am.
It's so it doesnt step on the toes of the 10mm pistol, there are other qualities that make up for the lesser damage. damage isnt the only stat in the game you know.
