The Backstory
Have you ever wanted to own pets, but find that they're just too much hard work. You have to feed them, play with them, walk them, pick their crap up, worry that they might find a way to open the spog bin and eat them all (almost) while you're off messing up the Commonwealth with another mod in development, and pay huge vet bills afterwards?
Well fret no more as iqoniq Labs has come up with the perfect solution. Is it a rock that's a pet, or a pet that's a rock? No! It's my Pet Rock!
With 3 fun and friendly rocks to choose from, you can own your very own low maintenance pet. They require absolutely no feeding, don't require any interaction at all, and don't move so won't get up to mischief when left to their own devices (you can even put the spog bin next to them and they make no attempt to open it).

What it actually is
Basically, this is just a mod that allows you to place one of three rocks down. The story behind it is my dogs (Paris and Bailey) had figured out how to open the spog (treats that are just sugar and given sparingly) bin, ate a load of them, and made themselves sick. At that point I threatened to replace them with two pet rocks.
You can either use it as intended and develop an emotional bond with a rock (or rocks - they don't get jealous), or just to place decorative rocks down in settlements. That's it. They don't do anything else at all. You can't even sit on them.
Highly technical installation instructions
1: Download it either manually or with your favourite mod manager.
2: Install it.
3: Make sure the ESL is activated.
4: Optional - Chant the mysterious and secret incantation to receive the blessings of the mod god.
5: Launch game and find them under Decoration > Miscellaneous
Random features and known issues
The rocks can be a bit picky over where they get placed. They like anything solid with no objects immediately close, but aren't a major pain, and failing that try one of the place anywhere mods.
They also sink into the ground, so the bottom 50% will not be visible.
