    NOTE:
Beds need to be sheltered. You can generally assume that a bed in something you built, will be sheltered... however never 100% true. So one way to know for sure, is to open console while standing near a bed, click on the bed FRAME with the mouse (so you see a big number in perens like "(027f4dd1)", then type: "getav 334" and hit enter. If it then says "Bed -> 1.00" or "2.00" or "3.00" ... it means its sheltered. If it says "0.00", then it is not.

    Hello!
I really like the variety of beds you make.
But hope you can add 2K and 4K texture versions.
256B and 1K version, the texture looks blurry, thanks.

Pretty sure my little 950 can't handle that. But, if donations should suddenly increase, I could get a beffier video card. Say, a 1070-ti?

    NOTICE!
Ok, not sure what happened, but I downloaded this mod myself to test a theory, and the Heart & Clover beds DID NOT show up!!??
    WTF??
So, I uploaded a fix just in case YOURS don't show up.

Also, I'll be making a "VH Beds" location in the workshop.

Looks pretty snazzy. By work do they actually work work? Can settlers/npc be seen accessing both beds on double bunks?

I just like to see my settlers using the beds in real time.

Yep! A 3 person bed will hold 3 people. This is why 4a had to be released, I had forgotten to add the 3rd person on the bed......LOL.

Oh wow. I didn't think NPC's even had the ability to use complicated objects like that. Very impressive! This should hopefully remedy the bed shortage/lack of bed space I have in some settlements.

Thanks for the reply and thank you for sharing your work. Looks very promising.

Wow, this is great stuff! Really like the designs and the variety is crazy. The only problem now is deciding which one's to use, they are all very cool. Many thanks for sharing this awesome mod. :)

Hey VonHelton, You said that NPC's can use double beds but I'm having some trouble making it work. I have 20 beds for 13 people 8 doubles and 4 singles. However only one NPC is assigned to each bed. So the other settlers think they have no bed and just walk around.

Is there any trick to assigning them correctly?

Some NPC's do not go to sleep/ Others don't sleep until real late. For example. My last game, Mama Murphey didn't sleep. All she'd do is sit in her green chair.
This game, she picks corn, sleeps *AND* sits in her green chair.
I sat down in a chair & hit the "T" key 1 hr at a time.
Sturgess didn't go to bed until 3AM. Marci as well.
June went to bed early. He was in bed by 9PM??!!
I've NEVER seen Preston sleep.......Not yet, anyway.
I'm posting pics of them in the bed now........

Hey Von, I think there is a possible communication breakdown here.

I was trying to ask in the beginning whether settlers/NPC can use both beds on double bunks in real time, which you answered yes, but I don't think this is true. Two settlers/NPC cannot *physically* use the same bed, even if it is a double.

I'm testing at the Slog where all 13 residents sleep at the exact same time each night (all of them sleep in beds) nobody is left wandering.
I replaced the beds with your beds. 8 doubles and some singles.
This is the important part: Only one Settler can physically use each bed.

So if you put 10 Double beds for 20 people, 10 of those people won't sleep because they can't physically use the beds. They count as beds but can't physically be used by a 2nd NPC. This is what I meant in the original question.

If I'm mistaken or doing something wrong please let me know. Cheers!

Yer not mistaken......Modders are FURIOUS over the fact that NPC's won't use double beds. So my triple bed counts as 3 beds, but 2 NPC's will just stand around instead of using it. Only 1 NPC will actually sleep.
This is a Beth related bugg, apparently.
      Even assigning NPC's don't work.......!!!
I can assign 3 people & only 1 will actually sleep.
Beth related buggs are way above my paygrade.

Hey Von, Thank you for clarifying. I got real excited thinking I could save space by using double beds and bunk beds. I ended up having less space in the end lol. It's okay though It inspired me to make another living area which turned out better than I ever could have expected. Now I actually have two surplus double beds woot!

I'm wondering if it is a bug or just missing framework. I think for any bed to have multiple users you would first need a new animation for bunks in addition to AI parameter to detect and calculate which bed slot is open. Far as I know the bunk beds and doubles aren't separated by individual sleeping nodes. Apparently the AI only see one bed slot per bed so it doesn't even register.

It would be supremely cool though if they worked like real double beds. You could save a lot of space.

Actually, I think Beth broke it several updates back & never fixed it. I seem to recall 2 people in the default double bed......As far as space, I use the double & triple beds cause they look better. What you could do is figure out how your NPC's could take turns sleeping at different hours, giving the illusion that they all use the same bed.

Hmm, I didn't know that was ever a thing. So they had it working for the vanilla double bed at one stage? I wonder if that was a unique animation and programming exclusive to that one object. Equally interesting that nobody could restore that functionality after the update.

That's a neat idea but I actually like to have them all sleep together at night. Makes it easier to keep track of them too lol.

I just got a crazy idea.......
I'll saw the double bed in half, and use snap points to attach the halves back together making it whole again.
CK will show each half as 1 bed & thus the GAME ITSELF will think each half one bed.
      BRILLIANT!!

That is so crazy it just might work lol. Don't make it on my account though, sounds pretty involved. Very cool idea though.

This actually got me thinking how the animation nodes work for beds in general. It might even be possible to get bunk beds working by using your snapping method but using two unique halves, bunk A and bunk B, where B has it's animation node offset and lowered to the floor, making it accessible for another user. That sounds even more complicated lol.

Hah! I'm not suggesting you try it. Just theorizing out loud lol.

If I were not in a horrible financial situation I would gladly commission such a mod. I think I mention these things partially to inspire, but also for the remote possibility that I one day learn how to do it myself. Honestly I just don't have much faith in myself. I have one of those learning disorders so it's very much an uphill battle lol.

If by some miracle I get out of this hellhole I'm currently in and survive long enough I'll get around to showing people like you proper support. At the moment I'm in one of the worst possible positions to do so. I'm sorry about that and I appreciate your fine work here.

Ok, so I will make invisible markers that you snap to the beds. 3 markers for a 3 person bed, 2 markers for a 2 person bed, und so weiter.
Right? It's the best I can think of. Or, I could use matresses that fit UNDER the covers & do the same thing. They snap to the beds.

EDIT: The markers are a failure. I'll hafta make actual beds & chop'em in half like the clover bed. Ouch.

Lol, tough break. Sorry for the late reply. Haven't been playing fallout for a while. Got hooked on a Age of Pirates 2 lol.

Maybe the multipurpose beds just weren't meant to be. I've never messed around with the animation nodes/markers. Sounds like it would be quite hard to pull off. Your beds are still nice, that's all that matters. :D

Ok, I will test an invisible surface that you snap to my beds. Every one you snap, you get counted for a bed.
For example: My 3 person bed. You snap one at the top, & 2 at the bottom & it will count as 3 beds & 3 people will be seen sleeping in my 3 person bed.
Get it? (I hope I haven't confused you. It'll make sense soon).

Unfortunately, this will mean a total rework of all my beds.......Ouch.

HA! I will literally create a "TEST BED"........(I crack myself up!)
    LOL!

    GO GREEN!!!

St. Patrick's Day Bed drops tomorrow! Bed is in 2 pieces, so that 2 people will sleep at the same time. There is a snap point to snap the 2 pieces together.

I really like all of your furniture mods, I was wondering if you would be willing to make an all in one that has all of your furniture together under one esp, the reason I'm asking is because i"d really like to use them all but I'm at my plugin limit and I can't set anything else as light, I tried to look up merging mods with xedit (FO4 edit) but was a little confused by all the different versions of doing it that I found, so I was wondering if this is something you might consider doing? or even just maybe esl versions? if not do you have a merging tutorial that you could suggest I try? thank you for your time! :)

Nexus puts limits on what I can upload. In fact, I may have to break my "Walls & Floors" mod down even further, due to file size & other contraints.

Having said that, I may look into making my stuff an optional ESM file.......
