It was somewhat hilarious how confederate songs were included since all confederates were traitors by definition, the entire point of the condeferacy was secession from and war against the US by US citizens, therefore treason against the US.
By that measure: The United States itself is treasonous. The point of the United States (In the American War of Independence) was secession from and war against the United Kingdom by UK citizens.
Ya, that was a dumb ass statement. The victors of war always get to write their version of history even though there are two sides and the truth is somewhere in between. Many that fought on the side of the South did not fight for the reason of slavery. In fact the war was mostly over the governments taxes on the southern states. Freeing slaves came later and was a political and tactical move by Lincoln. The North no more wanted to let go of their slaves than the southern states. Not saying it was not the right thing but it was political not moral even though the northern victors wrote history to saying otherwise. Like I said the truth is somewhere in between. There are no angles in war or politics.
Yeah, no, it was over slavery. The individual soldier may not have fought for that, but the grunts generally don't fight for why the war is happening anyway. The South wanted slaves; that is the be-all, end-all of the reason they went to war because the North was making moves to make slavery illegal (like the rest of the world either had or was in the process of doing) and that would mess with their political power (3/5ths compromise) as well as their very heavily slavery-based economy(workers not the trade).
what a joke of a mod. "inconvenient to streamers" thats 100% bs. none of these songs are "problematic" and no one streams fallout4 aside from like 3 people. this is just either a way to put something, anything on the nexus and gain what little recognition you can or its just virtue signaling a statement so blatant, its up there with "the sky is blue". but its we i use Radio Nam anyways. and nothing could ever beat that.
let us just glorify a "country" of slavers. despite what their history may say, they wanted to keep slaves for political and economic power. that was their whole point. so f*#@ em.
hey SoundSpark, wanna explain how people being offended about songs praising a country whose sole reason for having existed was to continue enslaving people is getting "offended over nothing"?
Meh, the confederacy had some things right... those lovely southern belle dresses for one thing, and the gorgeous architecture. I can condemn slavery while at the same time appreciating the good things of the south. Allowing the bad to erase the good is failing to learn from our past and is how history ends up repeating itself.
