Yay update! Sorry that it took longer than expected, wow! More than a thousand downloads for a first time mod, that is amazing, I am glad you guys found this mod to be at least pleasing to your eyes. I appreciate your feedback and supportive comments as this is my first mod, I hope to bring out more awesome mods as the time goes on when I learn more about modding Fallout 4. Cheers
To add the colors, you would have to manually drag and drop the texture folder into your Fallout 4 Data directory.
I really REALLY like this. With the default marksman stock texture its kinda reminiscent of an AWP. Though I uninstalled it after I noticed that while it made the scope look infinitely better, the barrel now (to me) looks worse. I liked the semi-chrome of the default barrel and while the sort of dark grey barrel looks cool and all, it's not as shiny and kinda looks like plastic. If you make a version that leaves the barrel alone I'll definitely be using this mod again. Keep up the good work!
I mean it is, you can choose which one you want though, I would say keep the fake reflection files and don't overwrite it. But of course you can overwrite it if you want. I'm glad that you like it!
the reason the optics doesn't have that 100% clean shine and reflection is because its dirty, when you right click to aim through the scope you can see its dirty. If you've polished it you should probably give the actual sights a polish too when u hold right click to aim... just to keep it consistent you know. be kinda silly if it was polished so clean and then when you went to use it its still... dirty
Well to be honest, in a world that has been destroyed, I think people will clean/maintain their guns, especially the optics. Even in our time right now, the scopes are extremely valuable. In a Fallout universe, you would want the optics to be clean because they are your eyes to scout for danger.
Was the sight actually dirty when you aim? I swear I perceived it as clean this whole time, are you sure?
On a side note, I can make a dirty version as well for those who thinks having dirt on your scope makes the game more immersive because your vault dweller doesn't care for their weapons
yeah but come on, no sniper in there right mind is going to use a dirty optic!it would only take for you to lock in on the wrong thing i'e a spec of dirt instead of the target and he is a dead man! as they get his lo-cal! No i'm sorry you are wrong there! that is one item in the game then would be clean!
and i know from experience of that you clean those optics all time to make sure your on target!
I wasn't implying this mod was crap or lorebreaking guys. ofcourse when I find a rifle I'm gonna take the scope off and give it a good clean before putting it on my best sniper. Afterall most of these weapons are just lying around in the dirt or carried by filthy cannibals.
After further inspection at the sniper scopes its actually not dirt on any of them its just a silly gradient shadow at 30% over the lenses outer edge... that doesn't happen, ever.. if anything the blackbox that fills the rest of the screen is just out of focus and doesn't fill whats left of the screen but i guess thats because we haven't quite reached that level of DoF oh and the reticle is a tad blurry. but reflex sights oh god, yeah that is a lot of dirt.
I just experimented with some of the settings as there are no in depth tutorial out there, on a side note I think I might have done something wrong in the process but whatever, the results are pleasing to the eyes. I'm glad you like it though.
