Don't know if you will notice comment this but do you think it would be possible to alter or expand this mod have an alternate options for the quest or other details or methods?
Say you find a baby somewhere else? You adopt it and raise it yourself instead. Just a door leading to an internal cell where the baby might be with it's parents already dead or such and you take it from there saving it.
Perhaps you want to roleplay having a new baby as a father/mother with a romanced companion so if you could just make a "baby" item at the chemistry station after having such that acts the same way that could work with roleplay. You could even give other NPC's at a settlement a baby if you can make multiples.
If that option was made available perhaps you could give a different texture option to the babies clothes or other texture to show maybe a girl or boy baby or such. There is already a name anything mod so you can just rename the baby with that.
I have not used your mod so I guess if you had player voice lines those options might require you to add edited versions or just only use lines that do not use the name Shaun. Through the few lines with baby Shaun, Dogmeat and the wounded female dog as well as other child responses and lines with NPC's you could have lines the parent says to the baby for either gender and to a Shaun baby as well.
My main reason for asking or suggesting this is that while I roleplay and would like my survivor to have a baby I am not the sort to play a character eager to kill Shaun/Father even from a roleplay stance. I tend to prefer most playthroughs being a good character and while some characters are more mercenary for money or practicality I don't really kill or steal except if I am doing so from what I think to be evil villainous people.
Very rarely do I ever dip into enough grey that maybe some games I could follow the line the original mod you made directs. A conflicted or desperate parent makes sense and I can see how that can be a roleplay choice with some validity.
If these ideas would be too hard or some problem I am just curious as I think it could be a nice option to have a baby not directly being Shaun for those who want such.
If not I just want to say thank you for the mod and good work as you seem to have put a decent amount of effort behind this small but very considerate roleplay mod.
I'm not planning to have any additional quests, voiced lines, internal cells, or expansions for this mod. I don't have the ability to work with quests in Fallout 4 the way that would require, and I also don't have the time or interest to do so. Thanks for the input though.
Hmm this in an interesting mod even though it isn't quite as in-depth immersion wise compared to the mod a tribe of two for both new Vegas and Fallout 3 I might still download this mod though as it should fit in well enough for Fallout 4 I think.
will i be able to rescue shaun after killing the Director off screen in AMerica Rising 2? Not sure if ur familair it u make deal with Institue Director Armstrong to help him elimnate the divsion heads you plants bombs in eachh brnach and father's room and then teleport out. "father" and division heads die off screen
The quest just worked fine, I killed Father, took the baby and... can't get out of the institute! I thought that it was maybe because I first had to kill everybody, but that didn't solve the problem. Still no fast travel out of the institute.
Sounds like a mod conflict. This mod doesn't touch doors, but it's always possible upon killing Father to flee the institute, it's just hard. You have to go and hit the teleporter button to escape, like you would on a vanilla killing Father to flee setup. This mod doesn't change or touch any of that part.
So uh this isn't working. Could you help if it's not to much. I kill father but the quest doesn't start. Could you atleast tell me where the incubator is so I can go there without the quest marker?
Can't fix. It's a problem with the baby itself, and I just used the model. I THINK there's a fix for Shaun in crib for this that MIGHT work for the baby, but I'm honestly not sure.
