This seems like a great mod except when i got broken power lines and a lot of building plot won't do anything also couple of missing building (no it's not caused by missing add on because on cinematic building is already upgraded just like on the picture yet on cinematic somehow the plot is downgrade themselves too)

    Hello veelynnlove!

Great mod! It looks spectacular in the pictures. However I seem to be running into an issue when upgrading the city from Level 2 to Level 3. Every time I try to upgrade at that point the game crashes crashes in the middle of the building sequence. I have all the mods that were required installed so it should be working.

I'm wondering if the recent game update might have caused an issue with the mods or one of the other required mods. If you have any suggestions or advice, I would definitely appreciate it, but if you have moved on from this mod (and the game) to bigger and better things, I understand.

    Thank you for your time!

It's likely a power grid crash. I thought I had sorted out all the power grid issues, but alas....
your best bet is to do what I do when i encounter a power grid crash -- open the console during the upgrade process repeatedly. Type "cpg 1". This will trigger the Power Grid Repair command. Do this repeatedly until it says that it finds (and repairs) a broken node. After that, you might need to re-wire the grid after the upgrade is complete. DEFINITELY drop saves before and after the upgrade process to save yourself some frustration.

I'm kinda confused, the option for this city plan does is not showing up in the list of city plans, only the basic city plan is there.

First of all, from what I can see on the pics, that city looks marvelous. That's why I wanted it to be my main city and downloaded the plan. Besides that ss2 plan I currently only got Sanctuary, The Castle and Hangmans Alley with their default plans running. Of course I installed any required Mods and updated to the latest version. Now here is the problem tho, I get ctd when coming anywhere near close to Starlight. I cleaned everything with fo4edit, optimized loadorder with LOOT, set all my Settings to low, still no good. Think the city was about to reach lvl 2. I would pretty much hate to abondon that project I had going on there, since that would mean losing a ton of scrap I donated to it. Any advice or fix?
My system specs are: i7 8 cores with 3,7 Ghz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 980 Phantom 4GB

@altair7109 Thanks for your thorough post. It gives me a great idea on possible solutions.

First off, I'd recommend getting Buffout if you haven't already so that you can get crashlogs.

The behavior you've described sounds like it MIGHT be a power grid corruption. But I won't be able to know for sure until I see a Buffout crashlog. The best thing to do for a power grid crash is to revert to:

      1. If you haven't progressed too many hours, go back to an earlier save, before the crashing became consistent, and repair the power grid at Starlight through the console command 'cpg 1' OR managing the workbench and selecting "Power Tools".

      2. If you HAVE progressed quite far and don't feel like you can roll back your save, then your best bet will be to fast travel CLOSE to Starlight, drastically increasing your player movement via console commands, rush over to Starlight before it can load anything, and once you are at the outskirts of the settlement boundaries, repair the power grid with the console command 'cpg 1'.

Anytime I entire a settlement I repair the power grid with the console command because I've experienced these sorts of crashes myself and know how frustrating they can be.

That being said, it's entirely possible it is NOT a power grid crash. There have also been instances where things like armor/weapon mods that a settler is wearing can cause texture/graphics crashes. The above solution won't work for these instances. So your best bet is to download and install Buffout 4 first and foremost so you can figure out what the EXACT nature of your crash is.

      I hope this helps!

Thanks for the answer. In fact I did get Buffout to look further into this. Which also gave me some help into fixes and updating some mods.
So far it did seem like this might be a problem due to Superstructures. Yet it seems to be kinda strange for a single candle object crashing everything but ofc I'm no expert and could be wrong. On the other hand it revealed that for some reason a Dimond City guard was being loaded in. Now that you mention it, it did also say there was a problem with the grid, didn't pay much attention there tho as I was 2 busy being confused about that Dimond City guard, lol

This scan is the first I made after installing Buffout and before installing the fixes. As mentioned it didn't change anything tho. Also I do have an armoroverhaul installed that should be able to distribute some of the objects to NPCs. So that's on the table, too it seems.

Going back isn't an option anymore since I'm playing on survival and don't have any save where it was still working anymore.
I do know how close I can get til it starts loading in, so when you say I need to rush over and use console to repair the grid, would it work using tfc command to get close to it? Cuz I know it doesn't load in at all, when I use tfc to get close.

      Update:
Fun fact at first, all the fixes and optimiziations have to seem increased my games performance, as I couldnt even get close to Drumlins Diner, before the City started to load in, lol
So tfc didn't work, as it really takes the position where the character is "left behind" to execute the command, which means I wasn't in the build area.
Other than that: It worked! Thank you so much. :)
And also thank you from Olivia, nuclear physicist and director of the Institute. :D

It’s a city plan. You have to build it using the SS2 city plan desk… Select the city plan from the city planner’s desk…

cainzaraki11 and xringklick - as a general rule mods don't work right when users don't follow the instructions. Or pay attention to the mods they download.

This is a city plan for Sim Settlements 2. An addon - for a much much larger mod. A mod, that as part of it's main quest line, will specifically want you to build a city plan. Which this mod is. Everyone that plays Sim Settlements 2 knows what a city plan is. They also know how to use them. They also notice that this mod, is specifically in the Sim Settlements 2 part of the Nexus - indicating it's for, yes, Sim Settlements 2.

Now, assuming you've played the main quest of Sim Settlements 2, at the point it asks you to build a city plan - and assuming you've followed the in-game instructions (and also handily duplicated on the wiki here https://wiki.simsettlements2.com/gameplay/basics/City-Planners-Desk )? and assuming you select this plan from the choices - it will build. It couldn't be clearer.

if you select the city plan from the city planner's desk, SS2 will scrap everything for you. there MAY be some leftover items (a few stray chainlink fences) you have to manually scrap because SS2 sometimes misses a vanilla item or two, but otherwise it'll scrap all on its own.

You’ll have to be more specific. What exactly do you mean by “won’t build”? Does your game crash when in cinematic mode? Have you hit the Build limit? Please specify the exact nature of the problem.
