I recommend SINGLE. If you have any problems, use SINGLE. MULTI is only for people using multiple-follower mods and is incompatible with other mods that edit the individual followers (e.g. by changing their faces).
IF YOU HAVE A BUG: 1. Report whether it's in SINGLE or MULTI 2. Try switching to the other one, see if it persists 3. Open FO4Edit, look at the NPC records (MULTI) or Quest records (SINGLE) for CAI- are any of them red? Tell me which mods are causing the conflict if so.
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! I got a formal warning for giving a sarky reply to someone's stupid comment. So if you make stupid comments I'm just going to block you from the file instead. So don't make stupid comments.
Folks, I used to use this mod but I'm currently using a RobCo Patcher Patch that adds the infinite ammo keyword to all companions (plus a whole lot more). That one is called RobCo - Smarter Companions by Rantanplan76 See here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/74568 I enjoy that it doesn't directly touch the NPC records, so compatibility with changes to companions' appearances and/or gear is not an issue.
Note: At the time of this posting, Smarter Companions is not currently compatible with the Next-Gen update, due to RobCo Patcher's dependency on Fallout 4 Script Extender and the Address Library for F4SE Plugins both needing updates.
Mod doesnt work, gave Cait a Laser Pistol and one fusion cell, she fires that single cell then reverts back to her default gun, I check her inventory and the cell is
Can't you see the mod was uploaded 2016 ? and most of the OP mods are out of date. there is a mod called Fallout 4 Downgrader, maybe you should check what really offer.
this mod makes infinite not only ammo, but also grenades, I think it would be worth fixing, as it turns out too imbalanced if you give nukes to a companion :)
The mod was last updated in 2015. Don't hold your breath for any further updates.
Also... NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give your companions grenades. EVER! They WILL use them, you WILL die. I remove any grenades from companions as soon as possible. You have been warned.
Looking at the mod in xEdit, and it seems to add an alias package data that doesn't exist. Might be because this was made with an earlier version of fallout 4 that did have that alias package, but was later removed.
Noticed it in the inf ammo and unbreakable power armor SINGLE mod.
No matter if I use single or multi, it only seems to work for the first companion I recruit, and the rest keep switching back to pipe weapons. I've tried forcing the plugin to load last but it does nothing.
I manually installed this. It does not work. Laser Pistol in Piper's Inventory + 1 cell = 1 shot before she reverts back to the default pistol. No Mod Manager, cause This is the only mod I use atm. Yes I have enabled mods in the ini file before you ask. using the single version of the mod.
For this mod to work it needs to load after any other mod that even remotely affects companions (such as UCF or Companion Accuracy Boost/Overhaul). This might be simple to change for you in your mod manager, in my case I needed to use FO4Edit to make my own mini-patch file because the infinite ammo keyword making this mod work was being overwritten by other mods. Below is a link to a video explaining how to make the mini-patch, also once done make sure to enable the mini-patch in your plugins list. After doing this it still did not load last for me so in Vortex I made a rule for the mini-patch to load AFTER the last mod in my load order and then clicked sort.
