About this mod

Stealth system fixed !! It's now possible to take out enemies one by one ( even undetected, if done carefully ). No more magic enemies "almost seeing through walls", and alerting everyone around "telepathically" for no reason

UPDATE

I updated all the files again -  because I just realized "fDetectionViewCone 100" and "fCombatThreatViewCone 100" was not enough, it's now slightly increased, so enemies can have a bit better lateral vision.  At first I limited it to 100  because in vanilla by default, dogs and some creatures can see  almost behind themselves, detecting you from every  direction, which should not be possible...  but at the same time  100  is definitively not enough for human type enemies, so ......

By the way, if you are using Pipboy flashlight mods, then having pipboy light on or off does not make any difference in enemy detection, only works with vanilla pipboy light, it's not my mod issue,  it's a flashlight mods issue, it has always been like that.  Enjoy the Darkness - Flashlights and Night Vision Use Fusion Cells and Overheat - Plus Stealth Fix at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)   this mod maybe fixes it, but I haven't tried it yet

DESCRIPTION

Fallout 4 detection system is  all messed up ,  resulting in  unnatural  enemies  that are  so unbelievably perceptive,  with weird and  broken  AI  too ...
I'm ok with the  stealth  being "hard",  I want it  "challenging hard",  but Fallout 4 stealth  it's  "frustrating hard",  these are two very different things...

 because

No matter if you are   E  X  T  R  E  M  E  L  Y   careful to stay out of sight, and not make noise, and take down enemies that are distant from each other, and hide bodies  ecc..... it doesn't matter, because as soon as you enter enemy range, they  ALWAYS  spot you, no chance,  and  INSTANTLY  THEY  ALL  KNOW  YOUR  EXACT  POSITION  (even enemies far away,  when there is   NO  WAY  IN  THE  WORLD  they could have heard or seen anything at all ) , and they all start silly running towards you,  without even trying to "maybe" take cover first ,  and at the same time they endlessly throw grenades at you .....

SO  I  EDITED  THE   STEALTH  SYSTEM   TO  GIVE  A  MORE  REALISTIC  (and slightly easier, obviously NON  FRUSTRATING  GAMEPLAY,  WHILE  KEEPING  THE  ENEMY   DETECTION   AS   SENSITIVE  AS  POSSIBLE.

no other changes, so it's compatible with everything,  but if you have other mods that changes the stealth system they would still work together but the gameplay might get a bit different then...

CUSTOMIZATION

Just a little warning,
before you start editing the mod, trust me it's not easy to balance these values, because they all work together, sometimes I improved 1 or 2  things on one side, just to find out that I've messed up other 4 things on the other side ... like  enemies not even  reacting to grenades exploding in front of them, or enemies literally seeing you through walls and buildings, and relentlessly attacking you  from all directions... just to name a few

but of course you are free to change the values of the mod at any time with FO4Edit, to better suit your playstyle

For example,

<>   Personally I like enemies to search for me less time, so I don't have to wait forever to move freely again , but if you want they search for you more time, you simply increase the "searching time" values  of the mod. For example if  the "value" is 5, you can put 10 or 20, something like that

<>   Or if you think enemies should SEE you more easily, and further,  you can increase this value "fSneakVisualBaseValue -27" , but more than -20 and sneaking around becomes impossible, ah and  if you go past zero, like 5 or 20, they will then see you through objects and even through  walls and  entire  buildings  too...

<>   Or if you think enemies should HEAR you more easily then increase this value "fSneakEquippedWeightBase 4", but if you put a  too high value they will then hear you even when you are not moving at all.  And  "fSneakEquippedWeightMult 0.3" if you increase this then the noise you make will depend even more on armor, clothing and things you are carrying with you

<>    Or if you think enemies should have a wider cone of vision then increase this   "fDetectionViewCone 110"  and/or "fCombatThreatViewCone 110",
(these two only change their lateral vision FOV, not the straight visual distance they can see, that one is "fSneakVisualBaseValue").  I am aware  probably  110 is not enough, but if you go too high here they will easily see behind themselves, especially dogs and some creatures

<>   Or if you think enemies should spot you more easily in general (visual and sound), and especially far in the distance, then increase this "fSneakMaxDistance 5000"

<>   Increasing this "fSneakDistanceAttenuationExponent 3" will make the distance from you and enemies having bigger impact on your detection (visual and sound), so they would detect you easier  the closer you get to them, and less easier the further away you are. On the other hand, putting the value to 0 makes them  detect you when you are far in the distance the same as if you are very close in front of  them

<>   Increasing this "fDeadReactionDistance 1000"  will make enemies able to see  their friends dead bodies you leave on the floor from further distance, and alert themselves because of that, 1000 seems to be around 10 meters distance in game to me, or more, maybe 15 meters, but if you change the value too high, like 7000, probably half of the game map will have constantly alerted enemies because of bodies lying around

<>   Changing this "fCombatSearchExteriorRadiusMin 1500" and this "fCombatSearchExteriorRadiusMax 3000" determines how far they will go to search in exteriors. There is also another like this  for interior areas

<>    Increasing this "fCombatRangedThrowDelay 6" and this "fCombatRangedGrenadeThrowDelay 10"  makes them throw less often molotovs and grenades

TO INSTALL

<>  simply download with your mod manager, like all other mods.

      or

<>   if you prefer to install manually  : download the manual version of the mod from the download section, extract the zip, then put the text file (stealth.txt)  inside your "steamapps/common/Fallout 4"  main folder, then go to "Documents/My Games/Fallout 4" and open "Fallout4Custom.ini", then copy paste the following lines in there and save,

[General]

s Starting Console Command="bat stealth".  . .(type it without spaces, I had to add spaces here because otherwise it won't save the text right, don't know why)

... enjoy!  and endorse the mod  if you like it

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not easy to balance the values,  I need to edit the values and restart the game a hell of a lot of times to check every little change, also I am not  a  Bethesda developer, so I cannot know exactly what each parameter actually does when in game, I had to test them one by one,
