must have qol mod. limited stamina is a fine way to balance combat but sprint-and-stop-to-regen gameplay out of combat is severely outdated game design.

Does not work in vr without renumbering formsIDs as explained here:

    https://old.reddit.com/r/fo4vr/comments/vf70hp/guide_mod_does_not_load_in_fallout_vr_and_how_to/

    Nice QOL improvement, thank you!

For other VR user that might be having trouble renumbering the formIDs like I did, a few tips:

      • Use the 4.0.3 version of FO4Edit, the newest version won't do what you need.
      • To get FO4Edit to target Fallout4VR instead of flat F4, you need to rename the .exe to "FO4VREdit.exe" and place the folder of the app into the directory (steamapps > common > Fallout 4 VR).... *Not inside Data folder.

Can you make a version of this mod that never brings your AP below 1? I still want to be punished for sprinting so I think outside of combat. you still lose AP for sprinting, but you'll always have the bare minimum to sprint and the second you enter combat, you're able to go below 1 ap.

When this request was first made, I wasn't sure how to do it and then I forgot about it (sorry!). After my attention was brought back to it, I thought about it some more and came up with a way. It's not exactly as requested, since the base AP drain for sprinting is 12, so the method I came up with allows AP to drain to 13 before kicking in to restore 12 AP per second (but not above 13), which makes it hover and fluctuate around 12 or lower, but never interrupting sprinting (according to my testing). So I uploaded this version. Hope it works!

Note that your sprint AP drain will still be affected by Endurance and the Moving Target perk, like normal. It also slows down the drain/restore fluctuation once your drops below 13. Also I'm not sure how to account for the Overdrive Servos (as noted in another post) yet. Suppose I could just raise the limit to account for it, whether you have it or not.

Works perfectly fine. ap drains to 12 then recovers maybe 2-3 ap then drains again to 12. Thanks for the mod and thanks envy for this idea.

Hmm, strange. I didn't do a ton of testing but It did work from the testing I did. I didn't test going in and out of combat though. Can you share any more info about the circumstances?

Examples: Did it happen all of a sudden, or after loading your save, or after leaving combat, or...? What's your AP, endurance and do you have moving target perk? Are you in power armor or have anything might increase sprint AP cost? Did you start sprinting when your AP was already low? Whats you're FPS and is your game lagging or stuttering?

Lastly, could you try disabling the mod, save, then enabling and see if it works again?

Does not appear to compensate for overdrive servos (power armor leg mod), AP will still drain out of combat when installed.

Anyway you can produce a version where it can also be in combat? I prefer freedom of choice when it comes to running instead of like my character just suddenly out of breathe, used to most FPS games ( that are open worlds, IE Planetside ) where you can run always.

Why is the magic effect description like so ? Restore <mag> points of Health. Shouldn't it be more like this ?
    Restore <mag> AP.

    Hello jahmon808,
I like the idea about providing AP when sprinting. May I modify your mod to suit my mod Flying Jetpack? So it will provides 12 AP when the user is sprint flying.
