Apologies for the extremely late response, (I haven't checked this mod page in over a year) but there are instructions in readme.txt. You just drop one of the ammo.txt files into the same folder Fallout4.exe is in and then type "bat ammo" into the console next time you load up the game.
The vanilla file should work fine but I'm not sure the DLC version will work "as is". I think the end user will need to replace the leading "00" with the correct load order numbers for each DLC. For instance, all ammo from Nuka World, for me, would have to begin with "06" for the bat file to work correctly. Another example would be all the Far Harbor stuff would have to start with "03" according to my load order.
The position the DLC's have in the load order is the same for everyone so long as they don't change the position of the DLC's in the load order themselves, so it shouldn't be an issue. I also put the "03" and "06" at the beginning of the id's for the Nuka World and Far Harbor ammo.
