I'm enjoying the mod, though I can't figure out how to access the town's power in order to power objects I build. I could build my own generators but that seems to miss the point of the town having plenty of power itself.
OK used console to trigger this when it initially did not start.... but held out little hope with Scrap Everything and Thuggysmurf's Outcasts And Remnants both installed, since both are claimed to conflict.
Yet, actually to my surprise, so far, this mod works FINE.
It is wonderful, neat little mod.
I find it a bit complex, using the interface tape... I have named NPC vendors walking about all the time, instead of manning their stalls.... but otherwise, it is fantastic little mod, right up there with other LarannKier mods.
I really have no complaints.
I have couple of suggestions though.
Firstly, if ever there was a space which could benefit from a complete 'Rebuild' treatment, it is this one, for this mod. I am not sure how hard it would be.... but if the initialization of this mod could then lead to quest to gather set materials, then ask the player to leave, or send them on mission on the other side of the map, with a 'wait three days' type prompt too, to make sure they stayed away.... then when it completed, and they are prompted to return, the whole area is rebuilt... that would be EPIC.
I know that requires more coding and would likely need someone skilled in 3D modelling.... but this would be the Cherry On Top for this mod, in regards to the actual aims of it. It is really only the building two of the five turrets are in, just to the front left of Barney's house, and the roads, which really even need that, maybe the area of the market getting flattened too. I would imagine for someone who knows what they are doing, this would not be so hard.
Secondly, Nicole is a sweet treat, but a little random... for me she just showed up in my house once I slept there, and we had one chat, before I could ask to get to know her better... then one more, before I basically propositioned her, and she agreed to take me back to hers for the best two and half minutes of disappointment she's ever experienced. That's fine, she's a hot little thing, for a toon doll... my LW MC is definitely glad she is not a Ghoul or a Robot.... since he kind of just slept with both early this week :P......
....BUT..... perhaps a minor quest, or just a few little mini fetch/deliver missions, and expanded dialogue would really make it a bit more fun and stop the poor girl looking so lascivious and easy.
Additionally, I think she would actually make a GREAT companion. If one day, you can find a lovely lady willing to voice her, I would definitely do that. In fact, she could have story arc that includes the first act being about rebuilding Salem (though I would not make that all there was too her, best companions are game long developments, like Heather Casdin and I'm Darlene, and no one wants to wait all game to finally get Salem rebuilt and this mod working).
Just my purely subjective suggestions.
All in all this a great little mod and I am happy with it, even knowing I am not using all its features.
Also, I disabled Outcast and Remnants for a test and it solved the overlapping objects on the players home and Nicole's apartment. But I have no option to recruit Nicole.
Is OAR incompatible? Is that why this will not start for me?
Man, Thuggy's mods are lava, and critical, but so are LarannKier's amazing works.... if there is no patch, I am gonna be doomed. I really wanted to test this mod out. I have it installed.. and activated... but it will not start.
To the best of my knowledge, OAR just turns ONE Podowski shelter in to a Teleporter.... and doesnt touch anything else in Salem, so I am shocked it is incompatible.
The town and resident system works much better than before, but I can't use the player home. 1.10.163, no PRP or other mod settlement nearby. https://imgur.com/a/x4qL8Xi
Obviously a mod conflict on my end, but no idea where to start as nothing else should touch this area.
EDIT: I don't know what mod was conflicting, but I moved this way down in my load order and everything works great! Thank you very much for this LarannKiar, I was hoping you had not given up on this mod. It must have been a lot of work.
Sorry for the late reply. I'm glad you got it resolved. (If you're insterested, you can open your mods in FO4Edit to see which is the conflicting mod. Likely the Worldspace or Location records were conflicting).
I used it when it had the TON-A-BUGS (See past comments) and it "worked" great except for the bugs. :D
I installed it again, and tested it with an old save that had it, and it looks/works well - however, **MY** save is bad - so once I get to Salem on my CURRENT playthrough, I'll know for sure.
I'm just elated that LarannKiar did not completely abandon the mod as I once thought!
Does this mod work with PRP now? Last time I tried to use this mod, it had issues with the house and Nicole's apartment. Not sure if that is still an issue or not.
