Hey again XD , I've been wanting to fix the stomach sway on the power armor. Do you happen to know how to do that? I am playing a mod on F4 with Fallout 76's enclave power armor and that power armor sways too much lol it makes the metal seem very fleshy. Just wondered if you know how to do it or if you know where I should start looking ^^ Thanks! <3
that might be an animation thing and not a rigging thing, and trying to animate for skyrim onwards is a trade secret because you need a very specific version of 3dsmax in order to do it
I would love to see your mod also incorporate a fix like: Power Armor Under Suit Mesh Fix as well. Not a big deal-- really just for convivence sake tbh. Anyway, thank you!
with this mod in particular, no, but only slightly. power armor frames have i think... 4 different meshes? each is for one of 4 underarmors, this one only fixes the "raider" one, which uses the road leathers underneath.
the author's permissions allow modification, so i could probably incorporate it real quick
Hello. The BA2 is named incorrectly. For it to be loaded by the plugin, it should be renamed from "PAButtplateFixRedux.BA2" to "PAButtplateFixRedux - Main.BA2".
There's no reason to pack meshes. Compression could even make it slower. BA2 archives only make sense with textures because the mips get streamed straight into the engine. And loose meshes make it easier to find conflicts with other mods.
If you have evidence for compression being disadvantageous for performance, that would be very welcome because it's contrary to all available documented experience on it. Otherwise this is probably FUD. Compression saves about 50% data in this case, but with the difference being just shy of 2 MB all measurements are likely to end up within margin of error.
@payload: Why don't you just do it yourself if you don't like it? It's a drop in solution the way the author initially made it. open your data folder and BAM, you're done. You don't need a BA2 file and esl for one mesh bro.
I'm not the one claiming things that make no technical sense, so I don't have to prove anything. Also you're evidently not understanding what is being argued anyway.
Also I had the mod archived before even asking the author for it. I asked exclusively so that other users don't have to deal with the loose files. Maybe you just stop assuming things. Probably for the better. I mean you recommend people use loose files, that's pretty bad advice to give.
The correct traditional suit-of-armour term is a culet. And the correct modern term is tail-piece, not buttplate.
Culet - middle French term for bottom/cheek cover, from the Latin "culus" meaning arse. It's still used in English as an engineering term (albeit rare these days). The related modern French "culot" still means "cheek" - used as in someone acting in a rude manner.
I know you're dying to ask, so I'll tell you - covering the front private parts is the cod piece, though the modern term is crotch piece.
And yes, I do actually own a suit of armour - doesn't everyone? No, really, I took the opportunity in 1986, when I met Derek Cole (a vanishingly rare armourer) to have a suit made. Steel & leather, made using traditional methods. Thankfully he's since been joined by his sons, so the craft lives on! Don't know if I'm allowed to post a link, so just search the web for Derek Cole the Armoury.

EDIT: mmk i'm gonna lock this thread cuz it's basically turning into public DMs
You want fries with that too?
