This makes it a little funny to me when playing as the male Sole Survivor and Nora mentions that the Vault is peace of mind.
"Nate already prepped his peace of mind, thank you very much!"

Many thanks for this. With my current mod set up, this mod eases the early difficulty without feeling like I'm giving myself a major crutch.

Glad you're enjoying.  Yeah, that was the idea.  All the other starter stash mods I found were decidedly cheat mods.  Which is fine, but not what I was looking for.  I wanted something that made sense and didn't entirely remove challenge. :)

I like it. I was always disappointed by the lack of this whole concept, after finding out that this guy was supposed to be former military there's no way he didn't at least have a safe with a few guns and some ammo in it. I know not everyone who serves in the military is a gun nut when they get out, but most of them at least understand the value of home defense. This game (or this game's reality) seem to take away that logic and instead force everyone to rely on the vaults for safety. Also I guess to be fair, Codsworth could probably throw down on a guy who was trying to break in and steal their stuff.

But anyway, I think there would have been more prepper stashes like this throughout the world. This was one of my favorite concepts in Far Cry 5 too. It would also have been cool to have some unique weapons for the player characters like "Nate's Service Rifle" etc and they missed the opportunity for the player to go back to Nate's house and pull his rifle out of the rubble and go off to kick ass.

Actually my original plan was to scatter these items around a far cry 5 style prepper bunker. But I didn’t want to add on another hatch to Sanctuary, and then my laziness kicked in and I was like f*** it, I can make a mod with just a chest of stuff in ten minutes lolol.

I just played FC5 for the first time recently, and it’s what prompted me to do this.

The more I think about it, the more annoyed and disappointed I am that I just did a quickie stuff in a chest mod instead of a proper FC5 style prepper bunker.

I'm very seriously considering doing a FC5 style prepper bunker mod that places a handful of them around unmarked locations in The Commonwealth to be discovered.  No promises, but I'm really thinking about it.

I've used this mod and just added to that space what I thought he'd have squirreled away:
      Realistic Sanctuary Pre-War Bunker
      https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12935

Virtually everything else you see people try to make these spaces fully fleshed out player homes.
This mod is anything but that, it's simple a shell for you to make what you think he'd have had - i.e. it's his Plan A.
Only real issue with it - it's too clean.    But then, I only plan on visiting this space in the first hour or so of gameplay - and I'll never see it again.   Codsworth has been "guarding it" for the last 2 centuries.......

Cool, I really like the use of the subway tunnel assets to make a cold war era feeling circular bunker!

I could swear at one point there was a mod that offered buildable underground bunkers. I think the survivors would also have been building underground shelters to escape rad storms and for general protection, there would be more bunkers like this after the bombs than before.

I thought about what bandanas to include for FAR longer than merited tbh.  I was like if I include this one and that one, then which one is Nate's and which one is Nora's?  I frustrated myself not being able to answer and just put in matchy ones lolol.

Thanks for this mod, very usefull. I just had to change the trunk location to from Vault111 to Sanctuary since I'm using SSK Fast Start New Game.

It's already in the root cellar in Sanctuary.  It was never in Vault 111.  I'm not sure what happened.  Maybe you got this mod confused with another mod.  There was a starter stash mod with the trunk in V111 released same day as mine.

Maybe you meant to comment on this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/61299

Side note, I use SKK Fast Start New Game too, and you can totally just hit the big red button in the little metal building next to the entrance and go back into V111 anytime you want.

Cool idea.  I'll have to remember this for next time I start a new playthrough.  However, I'm curious whether the description has a typo regarding the ammo listed after the hunting rifle, or if the chest actually contains .38 rounds instead of .308 rounds (the latter is the default for a hunting rifle - admittedly, it can be converted to use .38 instead, but the description doesn't make it clear that you did anything to make sure it would have that conversion)

Not a typo, more of an oversight.  I meant to include the .38 conversion receiver in the chest, but I had a hard time finding the item in the CK, so I lazily cut that item and forgot to switch the ammo to .308 lol.  Fixing now.

      Fixed.

Chest contains .308 and description updated
