"Why would the denizens of the Commonwealth bother stashing away a fistful of caps as if it were some precious treasure trove?" -------------- Because stash tins aren't meant to be post-war treasure troves but prewar small change. As per Bethesda's rejigged lore from FO3 onwards, there was a prewar promotion by Nuka, introducing caps as redeemable tokens in any nuka machine and any other participating shop or machine. So folks just saved leftover caps as loose change instead of coins. This was partly because coinage by 2077 had become of too little value to make (the metal and production costs thereof was costing far more than most coins' face value). And indeed this backstory and deeper hinted rationale is further expanded in FNV's Old World Blues. In FO3 such "stashes" were just a few loose caps in random desk drawers etc, but FO4 introduced a stash tin as an item.
As caps are now the main currency, raiders etc of course collect them - and yet presumably be spending them too so their stashes wouldn't necessarily be big - but I'd agree they ought to be bigger than in vanilla! But elsewhere such stash tins should be the pitifully small prewar amounts because a) it was loose change, and b) any irrationally larger troves would've long been scavenged in the intervening two centuries.
Finally i found immersive working mod, cause these 7-10 caps in hidden stash was just stupid in my game. Now i finally can enjoy finding stashes ! Ty !
Great mod. It always annoying that you'd fight through raiders, find a stash and think "Ooh free caps!" Then it turns out to contain a whole three caps... So this is better, hands down.
The sound when picking up bottlecaps, or the sound when picking up caps stashes? Regardless, both work fine for me with Trove, as the mod doesn't modify sound records.
Something else in your load order is causing the issue then. You'll need to use xEdit to see if something is modifying the bottlecaps or caps stashes, or you could disable your mods one-by-one to see which one is causing the issue.
You'll need to open the mod in FO4Edit and take a look at the leveled lists I created. It uses a series of weighted leveled lists to randomize the 100s, 10s, and 1s digits of the amount of caps given. There's not a simple value that can be changed to easily adjust the overall amounts of caps rewarded; you'd need to restructure the leveled lists.
I'll probably look at making an additional version of this mod that offers a lower amount of caps closer to 50-100 (which is still substantially more than vanilla FO4).

Is there a brief explanation that you could give?
I want to lower the amount of caps found in the stashes. The mod it self is great, i just feel like its bit much

I never got the vanilla design, why do raiders stash only 8 bottle caps in a box? lol
