The one thing Bethesda did right with Fallout 3 was making the worldspace actually look like it had been through a nuclear firestorm and hundreds of years of exposure to the elements.
One question though, will you be branching out to the actual buildings as well? Those are by far the worst offenders with even the paint somehow staying vibrant in spite of the supposed setting.
Thank you for your feedback... i can't say yet... at the moment it's a trial and error and personal expansion/ modification of textures that i don't like and that i can't find in the textures collections of another authors... like the construction scaffolds from the workshop. There are already many textures mods for rusty and rotten single or as a collection. I like the building textures from 'Langley's HD Texture Workshop' very much. That combined with 'Badlands 2', '50 Shades of Rust',' Rubber on the Street' and parts of 'Sandland', makes the whole game look like Mad Max... But I'll see what I can get out of the metal parts, especially the skyscrapers...
Those look great! I get a feeling that 90% of the Raiders and Scavvers living in those buildings should have tetanus.
I've tried 50 shades of rust, and it goes very well with your textures, although I need to do a bit of tinkering so that at least some of the city has some color. Still, in spite of that, it's refreshing to see metal that's been out in the rain and the odd rad storm getting more realistic weathering instead of that annoying aluminum sheen the rest of the game has.
- Also, I like the newer 50% desaturated version as it blends in nicer with the rest of the textures. :)
Hi there, thank you for your feedback... darker is not so easily possible... A large part of metal facades is colored via a color filter and has a neutral white base color. I have experimented a little with it around... I simply can't get the basic color shade any darker... but rust has so many facets and the light/medium light rust I find quite realistic. I will try again on occasion, whether I can make darker textures there
About time! I am on a constant look-out for old-looking objects for my game world. Bethesda seemed unaware of the effects of moisture and temperature changes, among other things. Well done! Right into my game they go.

It seems that MWT- Rusty Buildings has wrong folder name. It's "texture" instead of "textures".
thx
