the target dummy has been a lot of fun, except when they fall off high structures, so you have to go find them.
would you be willing to provide setting changes / specific values in pref.ini and the like, that you use to allow you the extra distance of increased ugrids, and travelling to higher density areas without crashing, please.
i can get around much of the map without any issues on ugrids=13, but when i get to the boston river, game freezes up, with signing out of windows the only solution.
13 gives me just enough range to be able to shoot USAF Satellite Station Olivia from red rocket and Corvega Assembly Plant from Starlight Drive-In, so i'd really like to be able to not go below 13. ideally i'd go to 15 just to help with shooting from these and other locations.
i've googled and read a lot more, but virtually everything i can find is years and years old, when even going up to 7 was considered very risky. or values are given, but no explanation is given to indicate if it is a high or low value, or how high or low you can go compared to the value they use.
i've reduced nearly all settings is steam launcher to minimum, but it hasn't helped.
could you add a dps, maybe a 5s rolling average? or something simpler like a dps msg every 2s? I noticed the msgs can't keep up with high fire rate weapons. I can't tell but it also doesn't seem to account for burning/wounding
Nope its instant hit damage only. If you can come up with a method to measure damage over time and disambiguate multiple hits in that period you should publish it.
For high rate of fire weapons use the debug log, each hit will be recorded there.
Is there a way to replace a model with something like a practice dummy? I'm thinking of a shooting target at the settlement.. and um... I'm kind of... I feel guilty.
BUT it would make the purpose of this solution (measuring actor damage outcomes) totally pointless as the dummy has different resistances to a human actors. Unless you populate the world with dummies.
They would level so have different resistances, but if values are less of an issue than what it looks like then unpack scripts, rewrite, recompile, repack. If you actually want feral settlers then multiracial workshop actors may be better.
Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to stop the models from changing after I use workshop mode? I was just going to outfit them instead. Appreciate an assist as you have already helped me already, thx again.
The actor will probably revert to its default outfit every time it resets or loads. Really sounds like your trying to do something with this testing tool that it was not designed for. Damage testing, not dwessup dolly.
I put one in armor and one without to test weapon damage between the two. I just keep a chest next to them with a lot of cage armor to replace it when they reset. I have a mod that buffs AP and one that mimics hollow-point damage against unarmored. Using the dummies for testing that interaction is a big help. The reset is a minor annoyance.

(a) the mod is not actually installed and running, or
(b) your workshop menus are buggered.
Means awesome
Is there a way for me to replace it's model? I was thinking like a ghoul for example?
