Request: A less intense version or one that just touches certain colors, but not all.
Reason I ask is because while it does look good for the regular green and the stury olive, it totally whipes out the BOS-gold. It becomes black more or less.
I guess it is not yet possible to edit the texture itself, just to desaturate the whole bunch, right?
Bonus-question: I noticed that it overwrites some textures of this mod (like suggested in the description): http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/5599/?
Notice that the main goal of that mod is not a re-color, but rather a modification of the mesh. Will this still work when I overwrite it with your textures?
Well the way textures work in Fallout 4 is through a color pallet basically, and different parts of pallet are assigned to certain material mods for the armor, and the standard texture maps that you usually edit are just black and white. So to change the color of different armor mods I have to figure out which parts of the pallet are assigned to what, which will just take some experimentation. But it can be done.
As for the other mod, I'm not really sure how it works to be honest, I notice that we do edit some of the files, but if they were to work together I would say to add my mod after theirs. But I'm not sure if that will work, more likely than not I'd have to do some kind of compatibility version to get it to work with that mod.
But thank you for the suggestions! I will see what I can do
I currently run with these three mods combined and can confirm that they work together and complement each other:
- 4k Combat Armor Retexture - Combat Leg Armor Variation - Darker Combat Armor...your mod ^^
The 4k texture makes for the best detail, your colors / palette are being used though. Over at the 4k Combat Armor Retexture mod I used the Combat Leg Armor Variation compatibility file and just tested this with a regular piece of combat armor leg piece, works like it should. So all is well.
This is a great change! The darker color is much more appealing. Endorsed!
Also, could I suggest that you make the polymer upgrade the same dark green? I always thought that making the combat armor bright white was silly. Unless you are in snow, white armor might as well be a "Shoot here!" sign to enemies on the battlefield.
I agree with that, and I wish I knew how! But a lot of textures in fallout are colored by a "color palette" rather than by the textures themselves, so I haven't quite figured out how to get everything just the way I want it. But when I do, I'll be sure to update
I've been using the black version mod but, I really hope you can figure out how to get them all this color. I would much rather have this dark OD/BDU green color. Hopefully you have the time to figure it out. =)
