About this mod

Finding the game too easy? Fancy not being able to fight back? Then Pacifist Simulator is for you! ESL only.

Permissions and credits
What game breaking mechanics have you brought today?
A Pacifist Simulator.

You're seriously toting pacifism in a game like Fallout 4?
Yup.

A game which gives you nuclear weapons to play with?
Yup.

OK, tell me about this?
What this does is removes the ability to fight in any way or use VATS.

Why can't I just pretend the fire button doesn't work?
You can, but apparently it's better with a mod.

What's the truth?
I'm currently working on another mod, and one of the beta versions had a bug where the inability to fight didn't kick back in.  My mate actually enjoyed the challenge of it, and asked me to actually make the bug into a mod.  I did mention about just ignoring the fire buttons, but apparently the mod makes it better because it stops reflex actions.  I also liked the idea of a bug becoming a mod, even if it is a bit experimental.

So how does it work?
On first run you'll get given a holotape called Pacifist Simulator Controller.  Run this on your Pipboy and select the option to turn it on.  You'll then get a messagebox confirming it's running.  From now on, you won't be able to fight or use VATS.  You still have control of favourite items, but equipping a weapon won't matter because you still won't be able to use it.

Now you'll see an option to turn on Hardcore Mode.  This is entirely up to you.  In normal mode you get made essential, so you can enter bleedout, but you'll get up a few seconds later (like Preston or a lot of quest givers do after they've taken a mini nuke to the face).  Hardcore Mode will turn essential off so you can die.

Hardcore Mode and the entire mod can be turned off at any time by using the holotape.  If you lose the holotape craft another in the chem bench under utilities.

Known issues or conflicts?
No known issues as such, but the has the option of conflicting with anything that plays with setting the player as essential.  Something it kind of conflicts with is Cheat Terminal.  It's not game breaking, but if you have God mode, player essential or protected, then make sure they're turned off before using Pacifist Simulator.  If anything breaks in the interaction it will probably be Pacifist Simulator, and flicking it on and off a couple of times should fix it.  I've got plans to reinforce the mod against interacting with anything already running, but it needs a bit of testing and polishing.

Is that it?
This mod is not commenting on recent events in the US, or anywhere else in the world.  The logo is taken from War Resisters International, and should not be mistaken as a political statement by myself.

Yeah, anyway, love/hate/perform bizarre experiments on.
