Since the Key to the Bus is behind the Church is it on Darla's corpse? I read the note pinned to the bus with the combat knife. I am on Nora and a FSS-War Veteran Officer with Nora's Bug Out Bag and the Dwellers Refuge behind the Sole Survivor's house in Sanctuary. The bus looked to be the best low key retreat in Concord to me as it was actually outside Concord's city limits. I am looking into possible go to bolt holes for Nora near potential settlements and this one looked good for Concord. I am going to look into other bunkers for the Sole Survivor. I already have two in apartments located in the ruins of Boston. One is in Hangman's Alley, I only have to clear out the Raiders camping in the huts there. The other is in a building near Pickman's Gallery and the Cabot residence. I can build shacks/ cabins at several of the settlements after gaining access to their workshops, but it's nice to have a refuge not tied to any settlement that on long missions and journies I can duck into to rest and save on Survivor Mode. One thing I am running into on my current run is empty First Aid Boxes on the first search. later after a respawn they have stuff. So Stimpaks and Antibiotics are constantly in short supply : (. Food that's not irradiated is a concern too, but I would rather have a little radiation damage from boxed and canned food than the health and action point hits from starvation. I do shoot or scavenge the wild animals and their corpses like the dead mongel dog at the south end of the Sanctuary Bridge and the Brahman just south of the Red Rocket outside Concord and Sanctuary. I hope the bus has supplies when I finally find the Key and open that door. Oh and thanks for the Combat Knife.
This is a great Idea! I love to use other mods (CWSS by steve40 and compact workbenches by Fadingsignal) I'd love to be able to put a CWSS shower and toilet in the back, but the curtains clip through the outside on normal buses, since they're not a separate interior cell! Also, please script the cell to ensure that any placed beds work properly (I've tried other mods that don't give well rested bonus on player placed beds).
Absolutely wonderful compact player home, and really well done for a first release. Author was super receptive to feedback and took the time to discuss what could improve the experience. Really looking forward to future updates and releases.
One major note? Let me endorse, as you've definitely earned it!
A good idea to do without the Sanctuary Hills Colony in a Playthrough without the Minutemen.
I will test this in my new game
Edit : I found the Bus, hard to miss. Perfect location to avoid running into Preston and his gang of goons. Not to mention the MinuteMen quests... Help... Never again Preston! Thanks for putting it there
However, you need a key to open the door. The lock is Master rated therefore unopenable at the start of the game
Is there a key hidden around.... You never know
To note : Above all, do not make it a complete colony. It's the right concept for an early game, kind of provisional
I arrived there at night, and at night in my game, without a lamp, you can't see much, see nothing in fact .... Lol Except the ghouls, but there, level 1, it is better to flee ..... help .... Plus I broke my Pipboy's lamp when I got out of the shelter.
so no light ... I have to find myself a miner's helmet to have a lamp . No helmet, no light
My game is keyed to a realistic style, not a milk drinker style... So, I'll check this note when it's daylight
A version of your mod with companions that stay outside would be much appreciated. (apart from the Dog) Because it's actually quite small, which makes sense for a Bus.
