Honestly when i looked for a mod unlock for boston airport / mechanists lair i could not find any so i made own and published it Strangely today i found your mod and i had no idea that it even existed
Great mod, but how do I add water to it? I want to setup a beacon and watch it get filled with settlers, but I can't figure out how to add a water supply. I already have planters and food growing, but without water, I will not be able to keep the settlers happy. Is there any way? Any other mod that I can install that doesn't break this one?
That's pretty tough to do with just the water sources in vanilla, which tend to require access to dirt and/or water pools that just aren't present in some of these locations.
My advice would be to use supply lines to ferry water in from elsewhere, but this would require having other settlements with sufficient water, as well as either perk investment or mods.
GrandBulwark has the simplest answer and it works well, so just build planter[s] and build pumps in them, either style works, so you can even use the powered one. You can place the planters in the really high small areas where the security doors are so they are out of the way, or if building multistorey levels in the main area, just stick them up on a higher level, except if you do this, the bottom of the pump will stick out below, so that's why I suggest the high areas, as they aren't much use for anything else.
Agree with all, especially the planter method - an alternative is Kuro Tab - bread boxes, buckets & sandbags add to stats food, water & defence (yes, that's "defence"- I'm not American :-))...without adding large stats like "fountain of Olympus" pump which adds 100 stats etc (but is still a great mod & fun). You can always hide them inside the walls. Although I guess it's irrelevant if attacks disabled.
Having an odd problem. Mechanist Lair works great, no problem.
Boston Airport - the map shows both the Airport and the Prywden as settlements, though only the Airport is - good! Happiness and population on the map are assigned to the Prywden, though under Data in the Pipboy, population and happiness are where they are supposed to be, on the airport. And the recruitment beacon isn't working. I have to assign settlers.
The only thing below it in the load order is a pathing mod for Mechanists and a settlement mod for Breakheart Banks.
This is vanilla behavior. Settlers assigned there will also sandbox in the prydwen. I'm not sure if it's been patched at this point, but a while back if you build the fast travel marker from the workshop in boston airport? You could no longer fast travel directly to to prydwen. They are meant to be "extensions" of one another, with the buildable area being the only part you have actual authority over.
I saw you mention that you made sure that Home Plate can't get attacked like vanilla settlements, which I'm happy to hear, but can the Mechanist's Lair and Boston Airport get attacked. I hope that they can.
Also, can Minutemen quests send players to these three settlements, like they can with vanilla ones?
Would like to know this also since im building a huge BoS Base at Airport all complete with a Raider/Gunner Prison to attract attackers. Didn´t had any so far but attacking with the Settlement Ambush Kit seems to work great atleast.
I haven't added radiant quest markers to either settlement for fear of breaking the actual quests for those locations, but they should otherwise have complete enough information for player-prompted attacks to work fine (e.g. the Settlement Ambush Kit).
It seems this mod causes a CTD on the flight from Cambridge BOS station to the Prydwen, just as you get to boston airport, two workarounds 1. de-activate the mod before the flight or 2. fast travel to the Prydwen then use console "setstage 0002bf21 120" without the quotes & join the briefing. I tried well over 10 times with the mod active, every time a CTD, 1 time de-activated no CTD.
This is the only mod that I've found that actually works fully in the lair. it doesn't have any detrimental to Aloot's home plate just adds an additional workbench.
Was happy until quite a few hours and saves later I found out that the furniture option disappeared from all my settlements. I've got near 200 mods loaded so who knows where the conflict is, but simplest fix for me at least was to go back to the last functional save and delete the mod.
I was not trying to be a smart ass. Just recommending people make sure they still have the add furniture option after an install. I lost the ability to add beds to all my settlements.

Convenient Food Crates and Water Barrels.
Edit: Looks like this mod was deleted some time after I made this comment.
No, I'm not kidding, it just works.
