Lone Wanderer's just a prime example of a lot a stupid perks & buffs in FO4. It ought to be inverted - carry less as some things carried easier when you had a companion, and take more damage as your absent friend was an extra pair of eyes and woulda drawn some of the attention.
that would make the perk a nerf to your character the idea of the perk is to make it better to be alone. it buffs carry weight because you don't have access to the other person's inventory. it buffs damage resistance because you don't have that other person drawing away attention. its meant to give you the benefits of having a companion while not having a companion.
So, I don't really care about companions, but will this work when I have to use Ada during the Automatron questline? She removes the perk, like other companions. I thought it was even more stupid that they remove a taken perk with a DLC quest. I'm like... what?
I'm guessing it should work. After looking at your esp file, it's basically just a spell affect removal for any companions tagged as such in game. I'll let your know for sure when I get Ada. And yeah... it is some s*** game design. Good job Bethesda.
Edit: Confirmed, this works with the Automatron DLC. You keep the lone wanderer perk when taking Ida as your companion. This way you will have your perk when doing that quest line. That's how awesome is done people.
I just got this mod, because I wanted to have Ada as a follower, but the perk still deactivates. I'm not sure if I did something wrong, or if it doesn't work with Ada before completing her quest?...
EDIT: Nevermind, I disabled the mod went back to a previous saved, removed her as a follower, re-enabled the mod and added her, it works now. Basically don't install the mod while you already have a follower. Might also have something to do with Everyone Loves Dogmeat mod, never play without that, not sure. Either way, working now.
Is it possible that we could get a version that would only disable the perk if you have a "human" companion? i.e. automatrons and dogmeat are still compatible with the perk
Made a patch for this which combines the effects from this mod and those of No Perk Level Requirements (ALL DLC) for those that would like the best of these both worlds.
Yes. This is about overall general survival skills learned, as the character (especially the vanilla backstory) is the Survivor. Have the perk renamed Survival Skills and remove the "no companions" part.
