You have to have a mod which is 4.2GB in size as a dependency - just to leverage a Double Barrel shotgun model....... These kind of mods are all over the place right now - and they only make any kind of sense if Point Lookout is going to be a permanent fixture in your load order.
Personally, if I wanted to use the DB shotgun model I'd download Point Lookout, extract the assets and use only those assets to make the mod. It would be for my own personal use, I couldn't distribute it. But then again I wouldn't have a 4.2GB dependency in my load order either.
People just need to understand what a dependency is - and how humongous this is. If Point Lookout is the next best thing to sliced bread - so be it. It's only been out for a couple days - early days at that.
I know I'm very late but, Fraquar, he has Point Lookout as a dependency since he'd have to get permission to include the meshes and textures from the creators of Point Lookout. While they may not own the design, the own that specific version of weapons meshes and textures as having been the ones to create it. Kinda wish they'd just release it as a standalone though, its a nice shotgun but I don't wanna download Point Lookout just so I can get my hands on a nice double barreled shotty. Thats another thing entirely though, so.
Yes, its a ridiculous requirement, but unless CodMaster can get in contact with the guy who made the assets, directly or through a third party, he can't just take those files and use them, as that would be stealing assets without permission. And some people just don't want to go through that all that.
45 base damage on vanilla vs 85 on the PL one. Definitely would make getting through Corvega a bit harder lol. Might be a good idea to make a variant of the PL one with rebalanced stats and use that as a replacer instead, because I agree the FO3 model looks so much better.
